I will be renting a double stroller in december - is it really necessary to get the insurance on it? I am torn - not sure what to do - I know its only $20-$25 compared to a couple hundred if it gets stolen but what are the chances of that. I know it can happen but just wondering what everyone usually does. TIA

I'm a sucker and I usually opt to get the insurance when it's offered (for anything). I've never needed it, so there's that, but I'm always afraid I'll jinx it by not getting it.

thanks everyone - we have done the same in the past as well cause like you all said "that would be my luck that it would get stolen or something". Thanks for your thoughts.

I'm so sorry to bring in a different perspective but I didn't buy the insurance. In my experience, people are generally honest. I've left my stroller with a diaper/park bag in it in many places over the years and nothing has ever happened to it or the bag (I don't leave valuables like phone or wallet). I also don't but insurance for TV's, phones, etc. my view is that if something happens that one time I will suck it up and pay for it, but buying all the insurance will cost me more in the long run.

I understand that things occasionally DO happen, and I'm making a bet/taking a risk. I'm just making a different economic decision. Bear the cost when it happens, rather than spread it out.

We rent ours in the park and it has gone missing from stroller parking even with the bright ribbon I tie on it. I am always glad we don't take our own stroller for that reason. I would get the insurance if renting from an outside company just in case.

I think I will get the insurance. It's $20 compared if something happens to it the it's $300-400 since we have to rent a double. Thanks everyone.

it was the option to buy insurance that made me decide to bring my own bj. There was no reason not to. I couldn't justify the cost foe the stroller plus insurance. Traveling at the airport with the stroller is easy so I ended up backing out
