Stroller idea - will this work?

I have DS2, DS5 and DS6 -- I KNOW the older kids will want a stroller at times so I plan on renting. My question comes in with the possibility of using an umbrella stroller to get from the hotel to the parks (we are at BW and will be able to walk) and then closing up the umbrella stroller and "hooking" it on the back of the rental stroller.

Will this work? Can I transport the closed umbrella stroller that way?

Hi! When we went last time, my kids were 4, 5 and 7. We did what you are thinking- we brought our umbrella stroller with us and then rented a double stroller in the parks. It's smart to have the umbrella stroller with you as just walking to the buses, etc. can be tiring for the little ones. We were unable to hang the umbrella on the rented stroller though. We just pushed both all day which wasn't a big deal as all 3 kids wanted to "ride" from attraction to attraction. My husband and I each pushed a stroller. Have a fun trip!

I think the umbrella stroller would be in your way of walking if you tried to attach it to the back of the rented stroller. It'd be a great place to put all of your "stuff" if you push it along like the PP mentioned and it'll be great to have when all 3 of you kiddos need to be pushed.

I have seen them hooked before but never done it personally, maybe someone that has will see this.

How about just parking it in a stroller parking for the day?? Couldnt that work?? Just bring it into the parks and then park it somewhere convenient and when you are ready to head back to your resort pick it back up?

I am going alone with the kids - so no other adult to push.

Staci - that is an interesting idea, is there a "safe" place to leave it in a stroller parking spot by the gate, all day long?

I wouldn't leave my stroller parked all day. We did park ours and leave it for maybe up to an hour but after that I'd be concerned that a cast member might move it or that it might get taken.

Although, if you take a cheap one and have a back up plan in case it gets taken then you might not be concerned.

I think you can leave your umbrella stroller with the stroller rental place. I've heard they will hold it for you if you are renting.

Or you could fold it up and put it on TOP of the double rented stroller. There is a shade up there so maybe you could put it on the top somehow. I was going to do the same thing for you but I decided to buy a nicer umbrella stroller and we will rent a single. DH and I will each have to push one though.

I've never rented a Disney stroller, so I'm not quite sure how they're built, but could you take a bungee cord along to help hold the umbrella stroller closer to the seatback of the rental? Maybe thread the bungee through the umbrella stroller's framework and hook the other ends onto the side supports of the rental (while hooking the umbrella stroller handles over the rental handle like you mentioned)? I have no idea if it would work, maybe someone else has another idea?
