So, we are taking our 2.5 year old for her first visit to Disney about 2 weeks before her 3rd birthday. We are going with my 4.5 year old stepson and his mother. They are flying, we are driving.
SS has a maclaren triumph for the trip. Weven have a smaller umbrella that doesn't recline, so we are looking for a more suitable lightweight stroller that won't take up much room in the car (our main stroller is WAY too big). We wanted to spend less than $80, so we're originally looking at the first years insight. But we have three other options, used:
2011 Maclaren Triumph
2010ish Combi Cosmo EX
Older Maclaren Twin Techno
1) we are both tallish. Well, hubby is taller, but I have wrist issues that mean a tallish handle is better for me. A regular umbrella is very uncomfortable, but the new combi at BRU was OK height-wise.
2) My daughter likes to nap in her stroller. She looked OK in the new Combi at BRU, so we are definitely looking for a decent recline.
3) this is Disney, and my daughter is a snacker. The combi's cupholder is a nice touch, but we can always buy a cup holder and/or snack cup attachment. Mostly, we need a decent storage area. I like having a cup holder too. I know it is an umbrella stroller so I don't expect as much as I have with the beast from our travel system, but still.
4) we obviously need something easy to fold/unfold. We will have 3 adults and 2 kids, so we aren't outnumbered, but will still have monorail and busses to maneuver
5) we are considering the twin because my stepson's mom will be taking both kids to a meal or two, and this is a REALLY good idea. We also may be contemplating the idea of another child, so having a double may be used in the future, so it is an investment too.
I'm so picky, lol, but I'm wondering what people think? A new, less expensive stroller ($50-$80) or a used Mac/Combi/Twin for similar price (45-65)? And which one would you recommend? I wish we had space to bring the double and a single! Lol.
Thanks,
Kate
