I'm sure this has been talked about many times but I need help. I have a DS2 and he hates to sit still! We are going to Disneyland June 11th to June 15th. Kinda a quick trip. We also have a DD4 would hates to walk anywhere. She thinks she needs to be in the stroller and of course wants to be in the front of the double. We had a double and it was so hard to push her while in the front. We then sold it on the garage sale and bought a sit n stand. I was hoping she would like it enough that it would be "cool" to stand in the back. Boy was I wrong. She wants to sit in the front...still. Only problem is the 2 yr old can't sit on the back. (It's a cheaper sit n stand that has no actual seat-just the flat spot. (No 5 pt harness) I'm to the point I will sell my sit n stand in the paper here and buy a new stroller. What stroller should I buy? I want it to be easy to open n close and easy to push. I will spend up to $275 and would like to buy it from Walmart.com. Any ideas....I would just rent a double at the park but if I'm going to spend $72.00 I'd rather have something to keep....Any ideas or comments!!!

They don't have double strollers for rent at DLR, only singles. Do you have a Disney Visa? You get 2 free strollers per day as a perk.

If not, hopefully someone else will have a recommendation for you.

You could look for a used phil & ted, which has an upper and lower seat and is easy to push. their old stroller ran around $400, but the newer version is about $600. MY DSIL bought hers used but I don't know how much she paid. it is relatively easy to push with DNe4 and DNi2, and maneuverable, since it's a 3 wheel stroller, but is haeavier than our single. other than that, I don't know of many doubles that are light or maneuverable.

hope this helps.

EDIT: we've also had a good experience with the free (with visa) stroller for DNe when DW and I took him at 3. other than carrying a sleeping 3yo across the street to our hotel, it worked as good as having our own stroller, and, back then, we didn't have a car big enough to bring a stroller

We just returned from Disneyland and rented (for free with Disney Visa) 2 strollers (for my 5yr old and 3yr old) Two years ago I brought a Graco double stroller which was nice given I had a 9mo old who needed to sleep with the seat all the way down.
I thought the Disneyland strollers were very good quality, easy to push and maneuver. The other benefit is that you can leave it in the park, then show your receipt and get another one (if you go to another park or come back later in the day). The only negative is that you don't have it to get back to the hotel room, but that wasn't an issue for us as we stayed on site at the GCH.

Alas I don't have experience in carting 2 around, but I think if I did, I'd go with two single strollers. Especially at DL, where the aisles aren't hugely wide. We've really enjoyed our Volo (and since we're kinda stroller-haters in theory that's impressive) and wish we hadn't wasted time with the junky (but cute) Combi and (useful but low weight limit) BabyTrend we had before that in attempts to get something cheaper than a Mac, LOL. So I'd probably find two lower cost Volos. But like I said, alas, no experience. Perhaps inside a year or so, knock wood. Then I'll report back, LOL.

I second the Phil & Ted...this has been our lifesaver! It's definitely pricey...we bought it new off ebay 2 years ago for $400, my husband couldn't believe we had to spend so much, but he's now convinced. If you could find a used one, I bet it would be great...amazing quality, very sturdy, etc. Good luck!

I agree with this. For years we took a Mac double and then had the brilliant idea of getting two Triumphs. Best.Idea.Ever. We have stroller connectors so, if left with one person, both can be pushed, but it is so nice to be able to maneuver easily through crowds and stores when DH and I are both strolling. With the ages of your kids, a Volo is fine - you don't need the adjustability of the higher end Macs.

thanks for the info...I just assumed they did since WDW did. I would have been mad at myself if I would have gone thinking they had them. We can't use two singles cuz there will be times one of us takes the two younger ones by ourselves.... Don't have a Disney Visa....

I have used the Maclaren Twin Triumph in the park for my twins since they were one. I have never had problems with it as far as navigating through crowds. The weight capacity on each seat is 55 pounds.I paid around $240.The stroller that everyone in my twins group has been raving about is the Baby Jogger City Mini Double. It is about the same size, but is easier to steer, has better storage and way better sunshades.Weight on that one is 50 lbs per child. It costs around $400. If my kids were younger and I was still using a stroller all the time I would have saved up to buy this one.
Good luck and have a great trip.

I am confused about the presence or lack thereof double strollers in DLR. I read on this board that people say there is no double strollers for rental. However, I did see one guy once who was adamant that they had a double rental. Then yesterday a friend of my told me she had a double stroller rental when they went to DLR last year.

Very confusing...is there a CM or someone who can answer this???

this is the stroller I would recommend for you: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=8466662

we use one similier to this everytime we go and it is a life saver! the kids ride side by side so no argueing about who is up front and yes they do fit in the gates at the turnstyles. they pack up nice for checking on the plane and plenty of storage under the seats for goodies. this particular model comes with a bar that crosses in front of the seats but I wouldn't even mount that piece or remove it if it comes mounted just for ease of getting the older one in and out. also with the large inflated tires it makes it easy to push around the park especially in areas where the ground is rough and bumpy
I hope this is of some help

some other stoller options with in your price range

In all my visits over the past several years (see my signature below), I have never seen a double stroller rental at DLR. Even their website only lists one price, and it is for the single stroller they offer:

Stroller Rental

Disney's California Adventure® Park and Disneyland® Park: Stroller rentals are available inside the Main Entrance for $12.00 per day.
Downtown Disney® District: Sorry, stroller rentals are not offered in Downtown Disney® District.

We have gone through all strollers for our two kids and LOVE LOVE this stroller its around $300 and worth it 14 pounds room in the bottom for stuff and both kids 2 1/2 and 1 year can sleep in it - it fits through a single door..

Peg Perego Aria Twin

Good luck

I love this stroller but very worried about the how wide it is. Any other opinions on this issue? Would love it as I love walking and jogging at home. So this would be something I could keep using. Although double wide...doorways...sidewalk widths...I'm a worry wart!

We love the Safari Double Jogger stroller. We have taken it every time we've been to DLR with our kids and it is the best! :thumbsup2 We have never had a problem on walkways or in stores. We do have to go through the flood gates with ours at CA, since it doesn't fit through the stroller turnstyles there. But, it fits at DL. :confused3 It is the only inconvenience we have ever found with it.

I also use it for walking/jogging at home and my 4.5 year old loves to ride in it. When we are at DLR we take off the front bar to make it easier to get in and out. It works great.

The stroller could be a little narrower now, since I have had mine for about 3.5 years.

We seem to keep coming back to this stroller. Thanks for the idea. The only thing we are worried about now is how wide it is.
