Hi,
I need to purchase a reasonably inexpensive second stroller for my DD, who is 8 mos, so I need something that will recline easily, and is relatively compact for travelling, and of course Disney friendly! :) I have a Quinny Buzz, which she loves, but it's big and bulky and doesnt fold down, so that's out of the question for trips. So, which stroller gets your vote? :) Oh and I'm 6' so I need one for tall people :) TIA!

It's not inexpensive, but we took our DD to Disney at 8 months and she loved our Peg Pliko P3. She napped in it several times, used the snack tray, the canopy was great (though we did add a Rayshade for added protection since DD is very fair skinned), it was easy to fold and unfold and is lightweight.

We bought ours last year at this time for 1/2 off on albeebaby.com. It was a 2007 model but was brand new - they were trying to sell off the '07 inventory.

Do you want the umbrella fold or are you open to other. My top two right now are the baby jogger city mini and the valco buggster. The silver cross dazzle is a good choice it is comparable to the mac techno but IMHO much better. If your not worried about a recline the Zapp is a nice choice it comes w/ a carry bag and folds small enough that it can fit the overhead on a plane. The peg aria would be a nice choice as well but the quest would work fine.

I got the Chicco Cortina for Disney when my DD was 8 mo. Worked out perfect, plenty of padding for long days at Disney. Lots of storage and folds up into a locked position. For everyday I would recommend a Maclaren. Worth the investment if it is your main stroller.

Thanks for all the replies :) I was looking at the Zapp, but I wanted the recline feature. I really don't want to spend much on this, like I said we've got our everyday stroller, I just need something that reclined, folded easily and was lightweight for trips, etc., we use the Buzz for everyday strolling, Oh, she'll be 13 mos when we go to Disney too. Keep 'em coming!!! :thumbsup2 Thanks!!

I so love that people on this board know their strollers! Another board seems to be Graco-land!

If you wanted to look at a Maclaren, you would need to consider something other than a Volo (no recline) so maybe a techno or triumph.

I had a PP Aria for a second stroller and hated it, but it was an older model. I really love the BJCM right now, though that may be more than you wanted to spend on a second stroller. If you need more of a bargain, there are some Espirit Sun Sprees out there for $69.99 that has a high weight limit and large seat for use in years to come.

OOOOoooo. You can get the bjcm right now for 25% off and free shipping. I just remembered the new Joovy Kooper (I like the lemontree color). I forget where right now I will have to look it up but you can get the baby planet in an endangered species print for 99 dollars and I believe it is free shipping as well. What price range are you looking at staying in.

We have used both a Peg P3 and the Baby Jogger City Mini for WDW and have loved both! We used a P3 two years in a row and then wanted something different so sold both and bought a BJ Mini. Both were great because of the portability and large sunshades.

We also have a Zapp (among way too many other strollers LOL) but I don't think I would want to use that at WDW due to the lack of storage, smaller shade, and lack of recline. Plus the fold is nice and small but kind of heavy and awkward for carrying.

Oh and cancer_survivor_06...I love the color of your Dazzle!! Now I really do need one. LOL I don't know why but I was totally thinking that the color was much lighter and more muted. I think your pics are the first real life ones I have seen and the color is much prettier than I was thinking.

Another vote for the Silver Cross Dazzle. I love the fact that it does recline and the large sunshade. Also DH who is 5'11" can push it without kicking the rear wheels. I just wish I could have got it in the grape color.

we use the mclaren techno xt - has a recline, great sun parasol and folds up pretty good, we used it last september and it was great

Oh... I am so happy that I have found this group knowledgeable about strollers. I am torn between the BJCM and the Pliko. Help... I don't know which to choose. It is not specifically for Disney, but will be used there. I am expecting baby #5. The youngest will be 4.5 when baby is born, so I don't think I will need a double. But the older kids do like to take their turns with the stroller when baby's not in it. So... I am looking at a stroller that can handle a 7 yr old for short periods. I like the stand behind feature on the Pliko, but can it really handle the weight of 2 kiddies.
The BJCMs sure do like nice, but after we add in the car seat bar and the snack tray it would be pricey.
Please any advice would be appreciated. For the poster who had both, can you compare the two for me??
cancer_survivor... you said that the BJCM were on 25% off somewhere. DO you remember where? (Oh and congrats on being a survivor!!!)
TIA,
Jean

I have the BJCM double and I absolutely love it!! It pushes sooo nice and folds so easily, the canopy is awesome!

Oh, I just reread your post, not sure if the BJCM is too pricey, my other suggestion is a Combi--we got one for DS at that age for Disney and really loved it--lightweight, easy fold, nice canopy, recline and carrying strap! :thumbsup2

Hi there! I have had 2 P3's (for just one baby LOL...I'm more than a little stroller obsessed) and currently have the BJCM.

We used the P3 during our DD's 1st trips at 3 months and again at 15 months. The P3 is great because I didn't find it that heavy and when the baby is lying down, the shade can be pulled all the way down. If you child is sitting up, the shade won't be able to be pulled as far down. I loved the harness system which gave her more freedom to move around while still being secure. The fold really wasn't too much of an issue and I ended up with DD, stroller, bag, etc. many times at night after park closing while older DD and DH went in a different direction. As far as the step, we never used it. Our oldest is 6 1/2 yrs older and a big girl so it wouldn't have worked for us but I have read where others like to use it alot with their older children. I have sold both of our P3's and now regret it actually. I keep hinting that I want another! LOL

We bought the BJCM about a year ago and love it as well. The sunshade is really large and it still has a lot of coverage even when DD is sitting. The seat is very roomy. Actually, last September my oldest DD sat in a few minutes and was pushed with no problems and she was almost 9 yrs old, 100 pounds, and nearly my height. The fold is so easy which again is nice when it is just me and youngest DD at night boarding the busses. The one thing I don't like is that the seat doesn't sit totally upright and instead is at a slight recline but that doesn't seem to bother Avery.

We recently bought the snack tray but haven't used it yet. I have heard that it sits really high on the stroller and was never interested in getting it especially since she doesn't eat that much in her stroller anyway. But a local baby store was going out of business and so we got it super cheap so I figured why not? I have a feeling that it won't work well because DD is petite and from pictures I have seen of other kids compared to the tray, it will be too high for her. What I want is the belly bar although that is supposed to sit high as well but I hate to pay full price for it! LOL I figure at least that is enough to grab onto if needed.

Too bad this hadn't been posted a few months ago...that baby store had the car seat adaptor at 60% off and the BJCM for $92. I did get mine for a good deal though by buying from SportsAuthority.com. They had a 25% off sale and so I bought mine for $149 shipped. A few days later, my brother decided they wanted one too for a baby shower gift so I got theirs for 15% off from Moosejaw.com and it was $169 shipped. I also got a BJ travel bag for a great price there.

My suggestion is to look on outdoor and sporting goods types of sites because many have good online sales/discount codes and sell Baby Joggers. As far as P3's, last Spring Albeebaby.com had really good sales on last year's models but not sure if there are any good deals currently.

Thanks for the info. So... it seems to be that you would recommend the BJCM? Man... wish I could find one on a great sale.

I really liked both but the BJCM may be longer lasting for about the same price depending on how big your kids are and as far as Disney is concerned, the fold alone is a great perk. But really if I still had the P3, I would be just as happy I think although now that DD will be turning 3 soon, I don't know it would be to push her around now. She is tiny and fairly lightweight for her age. If it had been my older DD at this age, I think the P3 would be out for her. She has always been very tall for her age and I don't know that it would have pushed well. The BJCM would have been a better choice. So I guess it would really depend on who is riding and their size/weight.

Sports Authority is having a 25% off one item right now (same as when I bought mine last year) BUT they are now excluding Baby Jogger strollers and accessories. So that stinks. But if you go on sites like RetailMeNot.com and CouponCabin.com., they are where I found discount codes last year and was able to save $$. Also, when I bought the 2 BJCM's last year it was when they were still retailing for $199 regular. A few months later, their prices were upped to $229. So when I got the discounts, it was off the lower price.

Have you checked Ebay? I have noticed more slightly used ones being posted and there are usually new ones that are listed with a Best Offer option. Just seems that more BJCM's are being listed these days so maybe worth a look.

Just wanted to add we had a P3 for several years and it was great. I wouldn't get it specifically for Disney as it is a bit heavy/unwieldy on the buses (no more than other "bigger" strollers though, but definitely not as easy as a small umbrella stroller) but if you are looking for an everyday stroller it worked great. It survived two kids for about 4 years and my elder son rode on the back step from around three to five - all the time. It wasn't that hard to push, even with both boys. Still miss that stroller (eventually a wheel broke off but we did use it every day while we had it).

I love my Peg Perego Aria

It has a nice shade. It reclines. It is a one hand fold and only weighs 8 lbs. I always hold my daughter when collapsing it and can put it into my car with one hand. The storage basket is a nice size and is easy to access from the back unlike the Pliko 3.:wizard:
