I posted ealier in the week looking for advice on a double stroller for two older children. We have a 6 & 4 year old. My 6 year old is TALL for his age so any of the regular double strollers (we have 3-side/side, sit and stand and duo-glider) are to small for him. We were planning on renting one at WDW but figured it would be money better spent if we bought one so we would have it for any zoo, amusement park trips this summer. Well I think we may have our solution. The fisher price kid utility vehicle! Has anyone ever tried this out?!?! This is my first time seeing this product! Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

It looks neat, but it looks like it's pulled behind you, like a wagon. If that's true, it's not allowed at WDW.

I was fixing to say the same thing. There is no way that you could push that in front of you - so I don't think security would let it go through. Looks pretty neat otherwise!

I think disney may allow it since it has restraints and looks like a stroller but u never know. Confirm before buying

My cousin just bought this for her four year old twins!! They are going on vacation to somewhere I can't remember but it has a lot of walking involved! The boys really don't like strollers anymore. Tate says they are for *ahem* BABIES...but they love wagons...the "KUV" is a wagon with seats and seat belts. It folds pretty flat and is not a problem to fly with or get on buses etc. My cousin really likes it except that it kind of bothers her to pull instead of push, but other than that, she says it has worked out well so far and the boys think it's really cool.

It's max weight limit is 135. You should take your son to a Babies R Us, which is where my cousin bought hers, and have him try it out. With the way it's set up, he may be too tall for it. But it's worth a try!!

Good luck!!!:thumbsup2

I wonder if they do allow it b/c I read a review on amazon.com and a woman just used it in Disney(feb 2007) for 5 days and loved it.:confused3

I would love something like this for dd's b/c our dbl stroller is a dinosaur....:crazy2:

How would I go about finding out if they do or do not allow it??? Now "if" I can push it infront of me then is it automatically allowed in?? DH just bought at a store near his job and will be bringing it home tonight so I will be able to at least test it out with my two boys in it.

What store sells it? I'd love to check it out. I'm having issues trying to find a double for my 2 kiddos for our October trip.

Rapunzel~my DH just bought it from Sears. I have read (but have not seen, was at both this weekend) that BRU and TRU sell it.

I also just read the post on Amazon.com from the woman that brought it to Disney. I wish there was a way for me to email her to ask if she was questioned when entering the parks or not. She gave it GREAT reviews
!

Can you email Disney customer service? I'm sure they would be able to answer your question or at least forward it to the right people!!

I was at BRU over the weekend and didn't see it. :(

I'd be willing to call Disney, if I can figure out which # to call.

I just called and the CM I spoke with said it would be fine to use at WDW! :)

I'm definatly going to have to check out Sears now.

Thanks!!!

Rapunzel~Thank you so much for "doing the leg work!!!" What did you tell them about it? By that I mean did you tell them that you pull it, etc....?

I will write tonight after I check it out and try pushing/pulling my kids around in it.

By the way, I did see it on Sears.com. I think you can order it and if it does not work for you you could return it to one of the stores (I think).

I told him the name of it. And said that it was 'wagon like' but had safey belts. He put me on hold for a moment, came back said he looked it up and it would be perfectly fine to use. :cool1:

Please let me know how you like it! We tested out a Sit and Stand the other day and I didn't like it very much, and it was VERY heavy. Thankfully if this is heavy I'll have the hubby with me at WDW. I have a 45ish lb 4yr old, and a 24lb 2 yr old.

Why does your 6 yo need to be in a stroller? Especially if he is tall for his age, won't he look a little silly in it? (Like having an 8-9 yo in the stroller?)

When I took my 6 yo, he walked the whole time and it was no problem. The exercise is good for him. (JMHO) :)

I was wondering when someone would have to post something like this.:confused3 My question was not if my 6 year old would look silly b/c he is tall for his age and would need a break. But thanks for you opinion. JMHO:)

I have to laugh b/c when we were there last time there were MANY older children riding in rented strollers looking happy and content and MANY younger children walking and being "spoken" to harshly and told to hurry up by aggrivated parents. To each their own and I am happy that your 6 year old had a fine time walking. My 6 year old is very tall and thin and is not afraid of exercise. Is actually always on the go. BUT he has asthma and the heat, humidity and long walking can do a number on him.

What a silly question! Why would it matter if her 6 year old rode in a sroller? :confused3 Is there a magical age kids shouldn't be allowed to ride in one?

I got rid of my double stroller when my son turned 4, he walks when we go to the mall or other stores and what-not, but I know he'll get tierd walking around WDW for 7 days, so making him comfortable is one of my #1 priorities. Maybe lovemyguys has her son's comfort in mind.

LOTS of older kids ride in strollers at WDW. And someone always points out how THEIR child walked...:confused3

My step daughter is going to be 8 and my step son will be 4 when we go to Disneyworld. We are going to rent a double stroller. Of course my very athletic step daughter CAN walk and mostly she does...she would never ride in a stroller anywhere else, nor would my stepson. But we are from New Jersey, not Florida. My stepkids are NOT used to that kind of heat and humidity. If my step daughter wants to climb into the stroller with her little brother, that is fine and certainly not anybody elses business. WDW is a LOT of walking...more than most people think and certainly more than most children would ever be used to. The heat can zap energy in adults let alone children. The only thing that is not acceptable in terms of her riding is that she isn't allowed to fuss about being "scrunched". If she wants to hitch a ride on the stroller great, but if she doesn't like the "ride" she can walk.

6 is still pretty young and it's not your son's fault that he happens to be a very big six. Just b/c he may "LOOK" 8 or 9 does mean he should be treated as an 8 or 9 year old. Who cares if he looks "silly"...it's disneyworld...grown adults are walking around wearing mouse ears and princess hats for goodness sake...I think a kid in a stroller will be the least silly looking thing around.

Good luck on the "KUV". My cousin loves hers and so do her boys!!:thumbsup2

Thank you!

I do feel bad for him sometimes b/c just b/c he looks older he is always expected to "be" older. KWIM?? When he was younger (10/11 months old) people would wonder why he was not walking yet. Oh well. I agree, WDW is A LOT of walking!!
