stroller for an older child?? opinions??

That changes things. If my healthy child wanted me to push him in a stroller at 8, I would say no way! But, if my child had an asthma issue that required him to have a portable nebulizer, that is totally different. I wouldn't frown on others who used a stroller for an older child as I don't know if that child has any underlying medical conditions, and if you want to use one, or your child is ok with you bringing it just in case, thats your business, and every one else should just mind their own.

I agree also now, why was this mentioned until later on in the thread, the original poster would have got more accurate opinions.:thumbsup2

If your child has health problems, then you should already know to bring the stroller.:thumbsup2

I agree... The asthma puts a different spin on things than, "He'll be tired/cranky/whiny," if he has to walk.

And actually, whenever I see a school-aged child in a stroller, I do have a tendency to assume they're disabled in some way.

Just out of interest, when your child is older(as in too big for a stroller) would you chose not to take this type of vacation due to your concerns? I'm asking as I have a family member in this position.

If his legs and feet hurt after a few hours of standing and walking, maybe he needs better shoes. My kids both love Keens for park touring. Really, these parks are not very big. My 6yo walked from the HRH to IOA. Walked around there for a few hours then back to HRH. Then walked to US and stayed there for a few hours before walking to Citywalk and then back to HRH. Zero issues with hurting feet. That was only one day. We had 2 other park days. Again, no issues.

Thanks for all the replies! I asked for honest op and got them. His asthma doesn't hold him back, but it also does not define him either. We will take the stroller the first day and see how he does.
