What stroller would you recommend for traveling with a 4 month old? We want something lightweight with a sun shade. Our DS will be visiting Mackinaw Island at just under 4 months, Disney at 5 and 8 months and cruising at 7 months. We need a great stroller for all of these trips. (This is what happens when I don't get to travel for a year- I go crazy once I can again.) thanks.

I would go with the baby jogger city series or britax. The city mini should work for all the purposes you mentioned, is lightweight, and reclines completely for infants/naps. It also has an awesome sun shade. They also have models with different tires and higher weight limits, but those may not interest you.

I wish I would have skipped the travel system and just gone straight to a britax or baby jogger with a car seat adaptor.

Best of luck in your search and travels!

I love my City Mini. We went to WDW when my youngest was 5 months old, and I use it for shopping, walks, and other daily activities, and I love it. The basket is big (although a little hard to get stuff in and out of it), it steers easily, it folds easily, and it's lightweight enough but heavy enough that I can hang my diaper bag on the back without it tipping over.

I never use a car seat in my strollers. I prefer to just recline the stroller all the way. I figure it's better for my babies to have room to wiggle. In fact, a lot of times I carry them in the Ergo so they can really use their muscles, but I end up pushing my stroller even when it's empty because it holds my diaper bag.

I skipped the travel system entirely. We have used a City Mini with DS since he was a newborn. Absolutely LOVE it! I would get either a City Mini or a B-Agile for the Disney trips and Cybex Onyx (or similar) for the cruise since its easier to store in cabin and is slightly less heavy. Don't forget to get a baby carrier as well. I love the Ergo but also hear great things about Becco. :)

City Mini or Britax B-Agile I think it's called is the equivalent with some improvements. I have the Britax and I love it.

There doesn't appear to be a lot of storage on mot of these. What did you guys do with the diaper bag? Thanks

Our diaper bag for trips is a backpack. It's easier to carry than it would be to fish out from under a stroller, esp. when DD is sleeping.

We also have a skip hop pronto changer. We actually keep all the diaper supplies in this, and keep this in the basket under the city mini (the "diaper bag" hold everything else DD needs). This way we don't have to go digging through the backpack when we need to change her.

ETA: I would also recommend the city mini. It's so easy to fold and push, and very comfortable for DD too.

Backpack or put the strap of my bag around the curved handle of the City Mini. Last trip we did a backpack for all of the things we always wanted with us at all times and a messenger bag with diapers and wipes to keep in the stroller basket. It worked perfectly.

Yes, get stroller hooks to hang diaper bag on the handle.

I have the jujube BFF and it doesn't fit in the basket of my B Agile. I got hooks for the stroller and it nags great on there and is not tippy at all when hanging.

We have a B.O.B Motion (the one with 4 wheels, not the 3 wheel jogger) and we absoultley love it.

Good diaper bags now have a system inside them to hang them on stroller handles. I like the system Skip Hop uses best. My current bag is a Timi & Leslie, and I don't like it as much. It's probably fine for a mom of one, though. I just don't like it because it makes it harder to switch between my double and single strollers.

MIA moda "atmosferra stroller! HANDS DOWN!!

This has been the best stroller on earth for us! It is great for an infant because it is one of the few that can recline flat. Plus there is a fabric piece that covers the snack tray to create a "bassinet effect". It also is one of the only strollers for an economical price (around $200) that will allow you to face the child toward you or out toward the world. Most of these type strollers that have a bassinet type option and are reversible are around $400.

My daughter is 16 months and I still haven't had to drop the leg rest down yet for her legs to hang. It also has a large storage compartment underneath that I can fit my backpack/purse and a full sized diaper bag. I also have an over the stroller handle organizer (about $20 at babies R us).

You can buy an infant MIA moda carseat that will work with this stroller as well, and it too will work facing either direction with the stroller base. They run around $100-$150. You MUST use the MIA moda brand infant car seat with this stroller.

You can buy the stroller and infant car seat on amazon.

Also if you would like to watch a demo of the stroller on youtube just type "MIA moda atmosferra stroller" into the search bar. There is a good review from Baby gizmo and another good instructional video from the manufacturer.

Good Luck!

Thanks for being soooooooo detailed!!!

Here's another one for you to look at Prego Pliko P3. It reclines flat, has adjustable foot rest and handles, huge canopy, snack tray, 5 pt. harness with freedom movement (I don't know of any other stroller with this), storage basket, and stores upright.

I bought mine at www.albeebaby.com back in 2008. Both of my nieces used it for WDW and they were 4-5.5 yrs old.

I also own a triplet Peg Prego for my daycare. The seats recline flat and with the foot rest up it becomes a bassinet. I think the triplet came with the boot cover also, I haven't used that feature as it just adds a few more inches to the length of the stroller.
