No, not to put the adult *in*. :)

We have a week in DL coming up and we're taking a basic umbrella stroller for our daughter who will just have turned 3. The worry I have is that while it's perfectly reasonable for me to push (I'm 5'2") the other members of my party are 6'4" and 6' even. I can't push the stroller full time myself and I'm starting to worry about how uncomfortable it will be for them.

Are there (and is it worth the money) umbrella strollers designed in such a way that both tall and short people can push them comfortably? Are there handle adapters and do they work? Anyone have experience with this?

We really don't want to invest a ton of money in another stroller for a kid who will be too old for them soon, but now I'm worried about whether what we have is going to work for our family.

We have a Graco Ipo and it holds up to 55lbs. The handles are higher and my husband can push it without bending over. There are others that have adjustable handles. I think I have seen handle attachments before but not recently so they might have stopped making them.

I am pretty sure I have seen stroller handle extenders for umbrella strollers at babies r us.

You can also park it and won't necessarily be pushing it around everywhere.

DH is 6'7". When we had one we bought an uppababy vista, for two we have the city elite double Both have adjustable height handle bars. You may want to try renting the the city elite. Kingdom strollers rents them.

We had that problem last year, I amv5'2" and DH is 6'3". We ended up getting the first years ignite stroller. He had no problem and it was somewhere around $50 on Amazon.

That may be exactly what we're looking for! Thank you. :)

(And thanks to everyone for weighing in.)

I'm 5'8" and DH is about 6'1", and we LOVE the The First Years Ignite lightweight/umbrella stroller. It is a perfect push for us, and it holds 50lbs!

We just bought 2 ignite strollers for our trip next month and they are great! I bought them online at Kohl's (30% coupon) and used Ebates and they were $40 each plus kohl's cash! Great stroller & great price!

Love my Maclaren strollers. They are easy to push and the handles are higher.

does the ignite have a recline??? thanks
( looking for all of the above but with a small reclining feature, I have a 4 yr old that is a stroller napper)

It DOES recline to about a 40 degree angle. More than comfortable for a toddler (my toddler anyways) or a preschooler.

We have a City Mini, and it's very easy for my DH and I both to push (he's 6', I'm 5'3"). The handle for the City Mini isn't adjustable, but we both find it very easy and comfortable to push/walk with.

If you need an adjustable handle, the City Mini GT model does have that as well.

The stroller also has a *very* easy fold (easiest out there, IMO), a full recline, and an awesome sunshade.

(ETA: If you're not interested in purchasing it, you could consider renting one from one of the stroller companies. I believe apple strollers is still running their special of $5/day to rent a stroller, and I've seen other posts with good reviews).

Geez I wish I had seen this thread back when my kids were still in strollers! I don't know if they made adjustable height handles then but my dh would have been spared a lot of back pain. It was even worse when the kids graduated to a wagon. He'd have to lean too far back to pull the wagon and I *always* ended up doing it.

We have a Jeep lightweight stroller (Walmart, $50ish) that has a good height for handles, and I've seen the Jeep umbrella style strollers there which also have higher handles. I am only 5'4" and I find a cheap umbrella stroller to be uncomfortable. My husband is taller than I am and we find when we use the umbrella stroller, he takes one handle and I take the other and we walk side by side if there's room.

We love our Maclaren Volvo. Great for tall, but just fine for short. I can't say enough about how much we like it and how easy it is for travel.

My husband is 6' 4" and we also have the ignite. So far I've been very happy with it quality wise and he can push it comfortably.

So following up, Amazon has the Ignite for as little as $59.99...

And the Minnie Mouse version for $69. :sigh:

Yes, I caved to the cute! :rotfl:

I had a gift card and it got me free shipping on another item I wanted and so when it arrives I'll post an update on how the tall folk like it.

I know you're asking about umbrella strollers, and I hope you can find what you need. That said, I've seen others mention it and I just have to add my support to renting a City Mini stroller somewhere. We have a City Mini double, and I have no problem pushing it. I'm about 6'3". It is comfortable for the kids and DW and I can both push it easily. In fact, my SiL and BiL like it so much they got a City Mini single and he's about my height also.

One word of warning... no matter what stroller you get, be careful about hanging big bags or bags with long handles from the back of the stroller with stroller hooks. I have to keep reminding DW that even though it might be fine for her, I have a longer stride and they are shin busters for me.
