So, what would you do. My 5yo (we will be there in Nov and he will be 6 in Jan) and 2yo (will be 3 in Jan) both enjoy riding in strollers. 5yo is good about walking, but I am not even going to attempt it at WDW. We will be there for 9 days. Is there a good double stroller for them both? What about weight limits. DH thinks it will be easier to rent a double stroller every day rather than lugging a double with us. Two strollers won't work because they like to be together. That would probably be at least $120 if we decide to take a "break day" and not go to the park one day of our trip and hang out at the resort (WL). We will be at POP for two nights prior to WL. Anyway, advice would be much appreciated. We are not flying, so don't have to worry about airplane, etc.

Thanks so much for your help.

I'm kind of in the same boat. My oldest will turn 6 while we are there, my youngest will be 3 1/2. When we go to sea world here in texas we bring a stroller that is pretty big and my older daughter can sit with her legs hanging over the outside with my little one in front. But for a trip this big I've been wondering about a double stroller. We won't be able to get away with just renting in the parks since the times we'll need it the most is getting from the park to the car at the end of the day when she says she just can 't walk another step, or getting through airports. Any one with similarly aged kids? What did you do?

I have twins girls that are 5 years old, and I understand your dilemma, if your children want to be together, I would go with renting a double stroller at WD, do that way you will be shure that they would be together, and it's easier for the parents to watch them over!! Less things to bring!!!

I go all the time and I have not used a stroller since my youngest turned 4. We do the parks from open to close taking breaks only in the middle of the summer when it is really hot. My older daughter has not wanted to be in one since she about 5.

I find the parks easier to get around without a stroller BUT they are a necessary evil with one under 4 I believe. I think a double rental stroller is the best bet ...both can ride in it if need be and you don't have to hassle with it on the bus.

I'd rent the double stroller. When my oldest had turned 5 we rented a double stroller (so she could sprawl out) and we also put bags in there of things we bought. I wouldn't lug your own stroller. The parks is where you will use it the most anyway. I am taking ours, but only because my youngest will just turn 2 and my older DD is now 9 so she's hoofin' it!

There are other things to consider. Does your 2yo still nap? Rentals are not good for napping. Is your 2yo on the smaller side? The rentals aren't good for small children. I personally don't think rentals are good for any child 2 & under. I think that they can be great for older children (the 5y/6y age). How are your kids going to be outside the parks? Can they walk long distances in the morning or are you willing to carry them? At the end of the day when they are exhausted they will need to be carried or ride in a stroller, especially since they are stroller riders? How much would an inexpensive smaller double cost you to buy, less than $120? It might be more cost efficient. Or if you already have one to bring it. That's $120 more you have to spend at Disney. Will you have a diaper bag or be carrying around the stuff you buy? There is little to no storage space in the rentals. That is why many people rent a double for one child. On your break day do you plan on going to DTD, Disney Boardwalk, checking out any of the activities at Ft. Wilderness? You might want a stroller at these places and can't rent there.

Well, those are good points. My 2 yo does still take naps, but we may actually head back to the hotel for mid-day breaks since we will be there for 9 days.

My 2yo is pretty active and will probably walk most of the time in the morning, but in the afternoons I know I will probably be carrying him, which of course is something to consider.

Is there a double stroller that I could buy for both boys that would be less than $120? What about weight limits?

Thanks so much.

We just went n March, so lines and crowds weren't awful ... but we did fine with no stroller for our boys - 4 1/2 & 2 1/2. Our oldest did great walking with our breaks for food and all the sitting on the rides. Our youngest did okay walking (running!!!!!) for a time, and was fine to ride on shoulders ... but we did have extra shoulders - Dad's Granddad's, and Uncle's, so that helped. He did need a nap which came while we took turn on Space Mtn and got in a couple of others he was too short for.
I agree with another post that strollers can be more hassle than they're worth ... but if you have to have one, at least get a small single stroller that they could take turns in, and make sure it reclines (if they're like mine) so they don't have to do the ol' head-bob-n-drool. Rentals are NO GOOD for nappers, IMO.
