We would rather bring our own stroller than rent so what stroller would you recomend for a 3 year old that is not too big so it folds up easy, but has some space to carry stuff, is durable, comfortable for DD if she falls asleep and comfortable to push (you're not hunched over, handles are positioned well for comfortable grasping)? Thank you all.

We still use the big ole Graco from when our little guy was a baby. He's 2 1/2 now. I think you'd be good with the umbrella type stroller if you can find one that tilts back and has a canopy. Bring a blanket to drape over the canopy when your little one falls asleep, this sun is brutal down here! I see so many sunburned little toddlers with blistered faces and feel so bad for them! I agree that the rentable hard plastic strollers that don't recline can't be very comfortable for a little one.

some of those umbrella strollers do have the basket underneath AND Disney has some pretty new buses now, that allow you to wheel your stroller right on without unfolding and unpacking it! Yeah ! How convenient!

I recommend the Maclaren Triumph all the way. I bought it just for our trip in March and was not disappointed. It folds super easy (one-handed), has a sun shade, has a basket, has higher height handles than the super cheap umbrella strollers and reclines. We loved ours, as did my 2.5 yr old DD.

I have the Maclaren Quest, which is similar to the Triumph, but has a deeper seat and reclines further. It is SO awesome! I would recommend any Maclaren! This year will be my second trip to WDW with it (among other trips) and it's been great, especially at the airport. Mine came with a rain cover (I think they all do), which is nice if it's raining out and you don't want your stroller getting soaked. Maclaren comes out with new colors each year, so you can find brand new Maclarens, but the older years, on Ebay for really good deals. That's where I got mine. If you'd like the name of the person that I got mine from, feel free to pm me! :goodvibes

Another vote for Maclaren! I just got the Quest Mod two months ago and LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it...for the same reasons as the above poster! I got a REALLY cute rose/pink print that I just LOVE. Plus, it holds up to 55 pounds! You'll get good usage out of it!!!

GO FOR A MAC!!! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

I went to Babies R Us a few weeks ago and test drove a few styles of the McLaren, a few Chiccos and the Combi. My DS is 21 months. I love my Graco Metrolite but only umbrella strollers will work on a plane so I think a good umbrella stroller is a necessity.

I chose the Chicco but the MCLaren was a close second. If I was looking for longer term, the McLaren would have been a must. The Chicco holds up to 37 pounds. I liked the basket, folding mechanism and canopy (with pockets)better on it than the McLaren. The Chicco had a deeper seat than the McLaren Triumph and adjustable leg rest. That was what I based my decision on. The Combi wasn't really a contender because the seat was just too narrow and I didn't like the tray, not at all functional for an older toddler. Now the McLaren is the only stroller that holds up to 55 pounds so it will last longer. Of course, by the time my DS grows out of the Chicco, I hope to expand our family and will need a double stroller for places like WDW where he won't be able to walk all day. If you want a stroller that will accomodate your child longer, McLaren seems the best choice.

We have the Combi Savvy that we bought for our last Disney trip..it worked great...DS2 does very well in it.

We like the Peg Perego Plikomatic. It reclines fully, has a sunshade, storage underneath, and folds up easily like an umbrella stroller. We've used it at WDW for the first time in 2003 when she was 5 months old and still use it today. She'll be 3 in May and we plan on bringing it again in August. She's a big kid (almost 40 inches tall and 35 pounds) and can still relax comfortably and take a nap inside when needed. I highly recommend it.

we have a maclaren triumph-it was our 6th stroller purchase and we are extremely satisfied with the overall function and stability
a little off topic, but has anyone ever seen those attachments they sell for the back of the umbrella style strollers--it allows another child to sit or even stand--if so, do you know where to purchase and/or what they are called.

bump, bump,

how is the peg perego compared to maclaren.

I'm not sure how they compare since I've only had the Maclaren, but I would recommend that you go to Babies R' Us and "test drive" a few models to see what works best for you. :goodvibes

I had the Chicco umbrella that I used for several years and many trips. I really liked it. It held up fantastic!

The Combi strollers are a good option. Travel Saavy was very good. Folds easily and very compactly with a shoulder strap, yet it has a comfortable seating area for an umbrella stroller and multiple reclining positions, with a decent size storage net underneith. Not as nice as the Peregos and Maclarens of the world, but not nearly as expensive.

I owned a Combi stroller and I hated it. It was okay for a while, but as my child got heavier you could not push this stroller at all. I got rid of it quickly. I bought a Mac and love it, love it, love it!! They hold much more weight than the Combi and push much much better.

I also am not aware of any Disney bus that lets you push your stroller on. We were just there a few weeks ago and everytime we got on ANY bus we had to fold the stroller.

Another Vote for Maclarens! I have the Volo but the Quest and Triumph are awesome strollers. I had a Volo and the Chicco for my kids last year. My DD was almost 2 and my son was 4.5. I took the Chicco back after the trip. I kept kicking the back of it. If you are tall that happens a lot from what I understand. I think the Canopy has been improved but the one I had SUCKED. This year we are going to DL and I am taking 2 Volos. Maclaren are just made the best IMO. Especially as your kids get older nothing compares.

We just purchased a Chico CT umbrella stroller and really like it. It has some storage space, comes with a rain cover, reclines, and has nice HIGH handles. DD 2 is tall and it still has room to go. If you can "test drive" them I recomend it. DH and I looked at th McCalirin's and Peg Pregos too but like the Chicco the best.

For every day real life walks thru the neighborhood, to the mall, etc etc, I also still use my big old Gracco Quattro Tour stroller. I love it, but it is not Disney practical due to it's weight. I also had a Combi Savonna that I hated. It went on the curb not long ago. The steering and harness were horrible, and I always felt like it would tip over.
It was also not practcal to go drop $200 for a Mac for our trip (and I am not a fan - I just don't get the appeal :confused3 )
For our last trip, we bought the Safety First Acella. It was light, folded easily, stood up by itself when folded, had a big basket underneath, and a snack tray/drink holder for DS. I did not like the parent tray/cupholder or the fact that you had to remove the tray completely to get DS in/out. It was not perfect, but it was $50, which is less than what we would have spent to rent one for the week, and now we have a spare stroller to throw in DH's truck as a back-up or leave at Grandma's house.
