This doesn't directly have to do with strollers but it DOES have to do with RUDE people.
We were at MGM and waiting in line for our bus back to the contemporary. We had been waiting a LONG time and there were people ahead of us so when the bus came there WAS room but for standing only. We had a 1 and 2 1/2 year old who were BOTH asleep in our large double stroller. We could NOT hold them AND the stroller standing up all the way back so we let several people by us so we could be first on the NEXT bus.
Now mind you we let probably 20 people pass us so we COULD be first to get a seat and opted to wait a REALLY long time for the next bus. When it got there this JERK (and that is a NICE word for him) practically knocked us over to get on the bus. Now mind you we were first in line and as soon as we saw the bus coming we started getting the girls out and collapsing the stroller. This was NOT soon enough for this jerk and he literally ran us over to get on the bus. He was RIGHt behind us so no matter WHAT he WOULD have gotten a seat. So we get on and the bus fills. The moron sat in the seats right behind the driver that clearly have a sign saying to reserve these seats for elderly and handicapped.
This guy was in his 30's and had a wife and older child like 10. They were ALL quite capable of standing if they had too.
Well this older lady gets on and the bus driver says, sir please let the lady sit in your seat. He just glared at the bus driver and loudly said NO.
I could NOT believe the cojones on this guy and my 10 year old stepdaughter said How rude Must be a new yorker LOL. No offense to any NY's on here but being from CA you hear sterotypes and I am the first to admit we hear them about us Californians too. Believe me I am NOT a surfer or a blonde babe! LOL.
Anyway I just could not believe how rude this jerk was and it was NOT like if he had waited 2 more seconds for us to get on he was going to lose a seat and he SHOULD have sat elsewhere if he didn't want to have to get up.
Oh and on a side note, my husband was in Iraq for the past 1 and 1/2 years. While he was gone my mom and I took my girls to
disneyland. Now I don't expect nor need favors or help but I also don't expect people to run me over either.
AGain we had our large double stroller and there is a perfect spot that you can place it in the front of the ART bus but if you don't get that spot you have to stand up in the back and hold it. Do you think any perfectly healthy young capable people would let me sit there with my stroller? NO. 90 percent of the time these morons took that spot when there were SEVERAL other seats and they did NOT need that extra space. But the worst was one night after fantasmic it was late and we had gotten to the bus stop. There is no roped off line and so we were sitting on this bench waiting for the bus.
We were the FIRST ones there and I had even gotten my VERY tired girls out of their stroller (which they were NOT happy about) and folded it up so that when the bus DID come I could get on quickly.
In the meantime all these people walked up AFTER us and they were all VERY capable of standing or what have you. All young and no little ones. MOstly adults and older kids.
When the bus got there I jumped up but all these people shoved in front of me so that even though we had been there LONG before they made sure we had NO room to get on.
Now COME ONE. If you see a mom a grandma and 2 little kids asleep would you let them get on the bus? I know I sure would. But NO. And it was NOT even like I was expecting a favor and wanted someone who was there BEFORE me to give up their seat. I was there FIRST and they took advantage of the fact that I was trying to carry a very large heavy stroller AND 2 sleeping kids. I was SO po'd I just said forget it (not in those words LOL) and went and got a cab. EVENTHOUGH I had paid for my bus ticket (yes you have to PAY for the bus in LA).
I could NOT believe how rude and I can tell you if I was without my kids I would definitely give someone WITH little ones my seat.
Oh and one last thing when we were trying to eat dinner at one of the main street restaurants I noticed there are NO bathrooms in ANY of those restaurants. Everyone of them you have to go outside to find it. I commented to mom that what if I had been there alone with my kids. I would have had to get up and leave my VERY expensive meal to take my kids to the bathroom cuz I would NOT leave one of them there alone while I took the other to the bathroom and my kids are young and one was still potty training. I was MORE than po'd between that and the fact that that particular restaurant was crowded to the gills and completely unorganized. I said a few off color things to my mom NOT in a loud voice and this jerk who was standing next to me starts giving me crap. I was like "quit eavesdropping and mind your own bees wax". That just made me madder and all I could think about was MY husband was over fighting in Iraq and this jerk was here having a good time and more worried about my PRIVATE comments to my mom then minding his own business.
Ok I am off my soapbox LOL. Just had to share all my rude people experiences!
