This is not so much a disney stroller question but...

My 4yr old DS is has an ASD and SID. Though only 4 he is almost 44 inches tall and weighs close to 50 lbs. We also have a 16mth DS. The DS4 loves to sit in the stroller; he's a stolling junkie. He has just started getting out and walking a litle but the majority of the time is spent in the stroller.

OK here is the question-- Is there a double stroller out there made to accomodate heavier children? When we go to disney we normally bring our single Maclarens so it not really an issue there, except that every once in a while my DH has business down there and it would be nice to go with him but then what do I do with the stroller situation. We also own one of those sit and stand strollers, which is great for quick errands but my 4 year old actually likes to sit in a stroller and gets tired of the bench after a while.

Any suggestions?????

I don't know if the Maclaren doubles are also made to accomodate the weight like their singles, but it might be worth checking out.

The Maclaren double stroller is not wide enough for my son's shoulders. I wish it was because it would have been less expensive to buy that full price rather than all the strollers I've tried since then (Kolcraft double, Schwin sport utilty double and now the sit and stand). Thanks for the suggestion.

There is a special double stroller that is made to fit two kids/small adults with disabilities but I think it would be too big for your little one then. It looks like a double jogging stroller but the intent is to have 2 kids both disabled/bigger. Maybe a regular double jogging stroller would work for you?

The double Maclaren special needs stroller will probably be too big for your other child, as one poster suggested.
I wonder if you could use a stroller connecter to attach together a Maclaren special needs stroller and a regular Maclaren or umbrella stroller?

We have 2 individual Maclarens but one is a quest and the other is a techno so the stroller connectors don't really work. I have got to call Maclaren to see what they have available for us. Thanks to all!!
