Stretching credits, sharing, and split checks... on DDP

:welcome: @Travis B! Thank you so much for the wonderful information @purple figment! :worship: As a family of 4 we often share food my daughter and I like the same things and can't eat onions, and the fellows can so they often split as well. I had no idea we could do this on the DDP at so many restaurants! :flower3:

Ok, so what if my parents have deluxe ddp and we hsve regular. Can they use two credits to order for me since I am also on a dining plan?

We've never had a problem with this,
My mum is always in a separate room, so we get her deluxe and us regular plan,
She does not eat out as much as us so doesn't use her credits as much, when we ate out together the server 99% of the time just took all meals off of one plan unless we asked for different!
All you need to say is we are all in the plan, and the previous restaurant charged our bands for everyone's meal, so we are now taking the meals off of my parents.
As long as your all on A TS plan they don't care,
I've now done 10 3wk trips and it's worked like this every trip

If your parents' reservation has two adults on the dining plan, it is likely they will not be permitted to order and pay for three adult meals at one sitting. And they are not supposed to to let you do this.

We had an issue at BOG dinner sharing on the DDP (everyone at the table was on the DDP). My mom wanted to share with my dad. However, the waitress said no...since we were all on the DDP, we were each obligated to use it. I asked her to please ask her manager. She came back and said the manager would allow just that once.

The waitress also gave my mom the option to pay oop and order off the kids dinner menu, but she would NOT give her the drink or dessert (anyone ever hear of that?), so my mom ended up passing. Again, we were on the DDP - why should we have to PAY for another meal? - an incomplete meal at that!?

Then she kept pushing the expensive steak on everyone. It made me think, at that point, she just wanted her auto 18% gratuity to be higher...so the whole BOG dinner experience didn't set well for us.

OP, I truly hope you have better luck. Sharing was our plan for our senior parents, but after BOG, we said forget it...
