I am in full on panic/planning mode with just about 6 weeks until our trip. EEEK!

I've got our FP+ squared away and I have our park days planned of course. I just can't make up my mind on these stupid ADRs. I wish I didn't have to make any at all - my family is just very lax when it comes to eating on vacation, often skipping a meal and then eating the next one earlier...stuff like that.

But that said, here's what I got so far:

Wednesday, February 12: Crystal Palace breakfast at 10:35
Thursday, February 13: none as we prefer to snack around Epcot
Friday, February 14: Mama Melrose F! package at 1:50 (considering cx this due to the price and the fact that there is now a 2nd F! showing)
Saturday, February 15: Yak & Yeti dinner at 4:30 (again thinking about cx this because we rarely are in AK all day and our FP+ are early)
Sunday, February 16: Kona dinner at 5:10 with FP+ booked at MK that night

Of these, CP is a must for my son. My sister would really like to eat at Kona again and I'd like to have some kind of dinner ressie for our last night b/c I am sure it will be crowded that weekend.

I might switch MM to SciFi and cx Yak & Yeti altogether. Your thoughts?!?!

The worst part is I can't ask my kids about this because it's a SURPRISE trip!! AHHHH!!!

Ahhh yes. The pitfalls of planning a Disney vacation. They should offer psych consults for free for all the people that drive themselves crazy (me included!)

If you aren't sure that you are going to stay at AK all day, cancel the ADR. You can still have some of their food at the CS window if that's what type of food you really want.

I cancelled my MM F! package on our last vacation and it wasn't a problem getting a seat for the first showing. We were near the back, but still pretty close to center!

I really stressed over whether to get the Fantasmic package on our last trip and ended up not getting it because the restaurants that offered it (besides Brown Derby) didn't appeal to us. We got seats in the front row of the second show.
You could always keep Y&Y until you're there and the trip isn't a surprise anymore....

I would totally switch MM for SciFi. If you are going to eat at AK YY is one of the better options. I too do not stay a full day at AK so I rarely eat there. I would opt for some time at DTD and find something there instead.

Good Luck!

I really enjoyed yak and yeti when we ate there. It was one of my favorite meals of the trip. You could always do a lunch reservation instead if you think you won't want to stay there all day :)

I am trying to avoid DTD on the weekend though especially b/c it's President's Day weekend.

I just hate that now you have to cx with 48 hour notice or face the $10 pp cx fee!

Y&Y is good. I just canceled my Y&Y dinner ADR for 2/18 because I think we may want to leave the park by 4. I'm thinking of booking an ADR day-of at the resort OR heading to Downtown Disney for dinner.

As for the Fantasmic Pkg, I actually had it booked for my May trip and canceled it in favor of 50s Prime Time, which I then canceled in favor of QS at our resort.

Well we are also going in February, but I'm not stressing about ADRs because ... I'm not making any! We are a family of four adults who will be there for a week, and I don't want to feel tied to dining at a particular restaurant at a set time. And we would be tied to it, or else pay a $40 fee for not cancelling 24 hours before - too restrictive for us! So far there are many TS places that have decent availability for our week, so I'm not worried.

So far I changed MM to SciFi (my kids love it) but kept Y&Y at this point. The food just sounds so good.

@GovieMom - when are you going? We will be there Feb 11-17 and in parks Feb 12-16. There is a good bit of availability still but in the past few weeks it has really started filling up on 15/16 especially.

Can you keep the yak and yeti by changing your FPs for a later time?

We are at WDW now and I had lots of ADRs booked and frankly they have been nothing but a nuisance. I'd much rather have just eaten what we fancied when we fancied but at this busy time of year, I was worried that we would not get reservations at the last minut

The one restaurant that I was very glad we booked was BOG, for both dinner and for FP lunch. Both were great meals!

Y&Y ressie is at 4:30

FPs are at:
10 for Safari
11 for EE
12:30 for Dinosaur

Hmmm........so I guess in theory we could be out of AK after a good meal by 5:30/6:00 anyway. Yeah I think I'll keep it!

The last week of February. Most restaurants have availability. Even so, it's not as difficult to snag a walk-up table as you think, especially now with the new ADR rules in effect. (The 15th and 16th of your week are probably filling up due to the crowds arriving for President's Day weekend.)

Glad you keeping it, totally worth it!!!
