Are there any other stressed out families trying to juggle holiday preparations along with a Disney trip?
I have been running around like a wild woman this weekend, getting everything together for our upcoming trip. Had to buy all of my mail-out Xmas presents and get them wrapped and boxed up so I can get them into the mail as soon as we return.
Had to drag out all of our summer clothes, bathing suits, sandals,etc.,etc... whew!!!! When you throw a full time job into the mix, it can really be overwhelming. I'm trying to relax about the whole thing, but there's sooo...much to do.
Am I the only one who feels like this?::MinnieMo

well my stress is more like..the how to i get through the holidays and still put money away for our february disney trip and come out ok...geesh.....:earseek:

We are leaving (driving) late Tuesday night. Need to finish all my packing, cleaning, laundry etc today because I have to work Mon and Tues. Trying to make sure I have everything packed for my 4 month old DD. It is our first road trip with her and I don't want to forget anything. At least these boards give me a nice break for a few minutes.

Capegirl,

We leave in 20 days and will be gone for 9 days. This is our second trip during the 1st and 2nd week of Dec.

I always put up minimal Christmas decorations at home. We still decorate but just not as much. The children understand that we will see a lot at Disney. This takes off a lot of stress.

When thinking about what to take I always keep a notepad handy to jot down items to take. I can't rely on my memory anymore.

I'm working on Christmas cards now so they will be mailed the day after Thanksgiving.

I've already wrapped and mailed all Christmas presents that have to be shipped.

I finished buying all Christmas presents last night. I just have made it a priority to get these things done so I can enjoy my vacation.

Good Luck and don't stress out too much!

Lori

Thanks. At least now I know I'm not alone. We've had company for the last 2 weekends, so I really lost alot of valuable Christmas shopping time. I'm hoping to get my final holiday/trip act together by next weekend!::MinnieMo

Just realized the other day how close our trip is. There is still so much to do. Very stressed out here. I guess I will have to get my act together this week and start preparing things. I only have a few presents bought but I don't have any that need to be mailed out so shopping isn't a top priority for my. Somehow it will all get done.

I know exactly how you feel. We are heading to MIL's for thanksgiving and celebrating Xmas early there. From there we driving to WDW. We get back 12/8 or 12/9 depending on how the driving goes. Then I have to mail out Xmas presents and cards. I was doing really well until I got sick two weeks ago and am still sick today. I got this cold with a really bad cough. It was keeping me up all night long. I felt awful and was unable to think about anything. I am finally starting to feel better, but the stress of how soon we are leaving is starting to set in. I am trying to stop take a deep breath and remember, we are going to WDW, and relax a bit. It's not easy, but thinking about being there helps get you through the stress. Good luck with everything you need to get done and try to relax a little here and there!:D

Ok, here's my stress:
Usually take vacation in July and Dec, in 2004 we are going in Jan, a day or two in Aug for family reunion and will try to save the rest for Christmas, but that is one long year with only vacation at the beginning and the end. The bummer of the deal is to see everyone who gets to go to WDW more than once a year.....I am jealous. I only get two weeks vacation people..........how do you do it?

TF........fishing with Chocolate.....come on fishy, fishy, fishy.........BITE!

YES!!!! I am so stressed. The first week of December we are packing up to move from Texas to outside of Chicago. We will have our furniture delivered to our new house on Dec. 10th. We are leaving for Disney on Dec. 14th, returning on the 20th. Okay, now that I am looking at it in writing I am going to have a panic attack. I have 3 days to unpack the house and pack for Disney. On December 22nd my parents and brother are coming to our new house for Christmas. I am exhausted just thinking about it. We just didn't want to break our kids hearts and postpone our trip because of the move. This is our first December trip and we have been looking forward to it since this summer. Of course, the first thing my kids said when we told them about the move is "our we still going to Disney" Yikes!! I don't think I realized what I was getting into.

Mom of 2 boys,
Pack now for Disney, set that all aside so the movers don't move your Disney stuff. Finish your shopping now, wrap everything put that stuff in sep. area for the movers. Don't worry about unpacking your house. It took me 2 years to do everything from my mom's house. (she lived in Calif. I live in Connecticut, moved all her stuff here to go through) Turn the Christmas celebration into an unpacking party! Enjoy your trip..
