I am going to be at SSR in June. All of the info that I can find online suggests that it takes between 40-60 minutes to get to/from SSR from all four parks. Is this an accurate time frame?

Of course, the same site also tells me that it will take 30 min. to get from SSR to DTD with no mention of being able to walk, so I'm not sure how accurate it is.

How long (approx.) were your bus rides to/from the parks?

I would allow 40-60 minutes, but in general you will probably be able to get to the parks somewhat quicker than that. However, if you have a full wait time for a bus (supposed to be 20 minutes between buses in general, but at slower times of the year it can be 30 minutes between buses), then some of the parks are a 15-20 minute bus ride. For Epcot, MGM, and MK you can make the journey slightly more interesting and perhaps a bit faster by going to DD and hopping a bus to one of the resorts in the area around the park (e.g., ride to Beach Club and then walk to Epcot from there; ride to Polynesian and then catch the monorail from there)

We didn't have it that bad this past June into July 4th weekend.

I'm didn't clock them but I know it wasn't no hour except the time me and DD tried to get from WWoS to MK one day and was trying to be creative with transportation.

40 Mins was the average but it takes that long even with a car if you count walking to the car to the tram and so forth.

We park hop at least once a day with one day doing 3 parks and a waterpark. If it really was that long of Bus rides we would have got nothing done and that just wasn't the case.

As DrP said many times it is just pure luck. If you walk up to the bus stop and your bus pulls in your wait time will be no more than 20 minute ride to the furthest park.

However as you walk up your bus has just pulled out, you are going to wait 20-25 mins for another bus then add the 20 bus ride. Truly the transportation there is as good as any other location.

So it is hard to say.

SSR is our home resort and personally, we waited waaay longer this past summer at the Wilderness Lodge and then the Poly for a bus. They seemed to take forever. I also noticed at the parks (while waiting in the pouring rain) that the buses for SSR were whizzing by while we waited and waited to return to the WL and the Poly.

We are going back to SSR this next summer...and personally, I cannot wait :)
We never waited more than 15 mn on a bus there. It was great.

Another option to get to DTD would be to use the water taxi.

I was at SSR in May and the bus wait did'nt seem any different than any other resort (other than posibly AKL of FW). It has always been hit or miss at any resort.

I know at OKW, they say as soon as the bus hits the Guard Shack (well, not really HIT the Guard Shack, you know what I mean), you are about 8 minutes from MK. Same should apply to SSR. Maybe add 2 minutes to MK from SSR.

And you can walk to DTD from SSR in a matter of minutes, especially if you are located near Congress Park or the Paddocks. Other areas aren't much further.

We've never had a problem getting to any of the parks using bus transportation. We always have a car and still choose the busses. SSR's bus system is nice because you don't share a bus with another resort (or resorts) and all the bus stops are close to the different areas (rather than having to walk and wait at one central bus stop).

We have stayed at SSR four times this year. Overall the bus service has been great! There have been a few times where we just missed a bus and knew we had to wait for the next bus, but it was just a case of bad timing. I didn't think any of the rides to the parks were bad or long. We have stayed at Coronado Springs and Port Orleans in the past and felt the bus service to both of those resorts were worse.

On our stay the 12-14th of October, the longest we waited for a bus was 20 minutes for a late evening MGM bus. We walked up to the stop JUST as the MGM bus was pulling down the street. We were trying to get to the 8:30 Fantasmic showing, and were at the bus stop at 7:30 and were on the bus by 7:50. I said something to the driver about cutting it close for the 8:30 showing and he said "Oh, you've got PLENTY of time." And he was right. We were in the park by 8:00 and in our seats by 8:15, even with my Mom's gimpy leg.

Every other bus ride was between a walk on to the bus, and a five minute wait. The actual rides were never longer than 20 minutes. Return transportation was a breeze too. Bus stop is near the front of the bus area and we never waited for more than one bus. We're used to staying in values, and the bus transportation was night and day different!

One of the really nice things is that if you are in Congress park, you can always make a detour though DTD. We ate at AKL one evening, and just took the DTD bus and walked "home".

We got back last week and I waited the longest from SSR. We had a rental and drove to some spots. We may have had lousy timing to get the the bus stop :confused3 But...still loved the resort!!!

our bus trips were about 30 mins, including the wait and the ride time. I would say the shortest was 20 mins and the longest 35 mins.

we walked between DTD and our room at the Springs-- my point is that you don't have to be in Congress Park to be able to walk to DTD.

when dining at Boma, we walked to DTD to get an AKL bus there.

we also took the boat transport between SSR and DTD, which was very pleasant. they seem to have a schedule so if you time it correctly there is little wait.

this was our first time staying on property and I just loved not having to deal with maps, parking lots, trams or the TTC!
