Have you ever not looked at a house for purchase because the street name it was on was awful? We've been looking at houses lately and while I wouldn't not buy a great house just because of the street name, some of the names make me cringe.

One that comes to mind is Cindy Blair Way. Every time I see it I think of a combination of Linda Blair (and spinning heads, green vomit) and the Blair Witch Project. Oh, another we looked at was on Slashes (Rd? Lane?). Yikes.

I haven't not wanted to buy because of street names, but we did look at a house in a town called Climax. I loved the house but really didn't want that as my address.
I used to live on Delicious Rd in a place where all the streets were named for apples.

My DB lives around the corner from Nimrod Road. Pretty sure I wouldn't want to live there :rotfl:

My sister used to live on a street called Voorhies - always reminded me of Jason from the horror movies.

There is a Poor House Road in a town near me.. I giggle everytime I see it.. also a street called "forget me not" because its so small.

A friend of mine grew up on Crystal Lake, it always made me think of Friday the 13th.

When I lived in Lexington, I lived on Della Drive. I was a little too young to get the reference, but my parents' friends all thought it should be Della Street after the character on Perry Mason.

There's a Harmes Way in Lexington. I certainly wouldn't want to live in Harmes Way! :rotfl:

In a town nearby, there is French Hussey Road. Apparently the sign gets stolen a lot :rotfl2:

Where I grew up, there was Pest House Road, Pine Stump Road, and Land Auction Bureau Road. I always thought those were odd.

Not really anything to do with funny names... but I grew up on a street with an uncommon street name.
Used to drive me nuts that no one could spell it right (couple it with my last name and I practically never got mail that was CORRECT)

DH and I just bought a house on like... 45th street.
We currently live on 48th Street.

Sooo much easier now, I don't know if I could ever go back to something difficult to understand!

I used to work in a city that had a one way street named Love St. So, in case anyone asks - Love IS a one way street.

When I was little, I always wanted to be on the committee that named roads, neighborhoods, schools, etc. I'd have the BEST names.

We have lots of funny road names here in the country...
We have a Hog Lot Road (although Ive never seen any hogs) and Rong Road (without the W in Rong). My In laws live WAY out in the country on
Poor Valley Rd....lives up to its name.

driving to a Dog Show in Lehigh PA I saw a street named Duh Lane
We've come across a Bah Rd. or Bah Lane while on our Geocaching travels. And it's not even named on the maps at this point. :teeth:

I love the homes, the neighborhood, but can't buy the house on hyman street...

DS was invited to a party once on Rick James Way. What made it even funnier was the family that was holding the party was a very strict and conservative christian family. I asked DS if they even knew who Rick James WAS!!!!!

In the town where we used to live there was a street called Chickenfoot Road.

There weren't any houses on it.
