I thought they did this awhile back or did they just give you your drinks without lids? I remember trying to carry 5 drinks on a tray with no lids, and I was a little nervous lol!

Do they really still have plastic straws? Thought they were all paper now. My scuba diver DH wound NOT approve of plastic straws!

The article says paper straws. I haven't seen a plastic straw at Disney in a while.

I don't mind not having straws for soft drinks, water, and most cocktails, but for frozen drinks and some cocktails, I still need a straw. Hopefully it won't be an issue to ask for one.

I don't think they are banned items. Just no longer being routinely given. I believe you can even request them at the counter.

I have been taking plastic straws with me on our trips since they started using the paper ones. I really can’t drink with the paper straws. I put them in my little backpack and have never had a problem.

Thanks-that makes me feel lots better. Am I correct in assuming that at Animal Kingdom they would be a problem? Or have you brought them in there?

That’s money I won’t need to spend. The hotel stuff is so bad, I’ve been bringing my own for a few years. Luckily we don’t do commando park days, so I don’t need to use the rest rooms in the parks a lot.
