Strawberry...Angelfood Cake Recipe

Does anyone know of this recipe? It's an angle food cake that is split in half and then hallowed out. Inside is some strawberry stuff with cool whip on the outside.

I had it somewhere and would like to make it myself but cant find the recipe

I make a similar recipe but instead of strawberries I take shebert ,let it soften, and then cut the angel food into two or three slices(horizontaly). I then spread each layer with shebert and then use fat free cool whip as frosting. Freeze until set and serve!!!

I have seen Sandra Lee do it with canned mandarin oranges,she drained the juice off and used it to flavor the cool whip.

If you are using fresh strawberries, I would cut them up and sprinkle with a little bit of sugar and left them sit for a few minutes so the juice has time to incorporate with the sugar and then use it as a filling, then put the pieces back together and frost with the softened cool whip. Or you could just cut the strawberries into slices and put them right into the cake.
