Has anyone been to the Stratford Shakespeare Festival? My DD is going with a group next week. and I have a few questions? Is most the food set up in booths? Will she need cash for those or can she use her Travel Credit Card?

Thanks

Kae

It's been a while since I went but I don't remember any booths at all, just regular restaurants...

There's just regular restaurants. I'm not sure if they still have it but you used to be able to order a boxed lunch from the theater but you had to order it ahead of time.

Stratford Shakespeare Festival, YES i go at least once every year with my mom & sisters. You should perhaps go to their website and check it out. Basically it is a summer's worth of live performances set in 4 different theatres ranging from musicals thru to the "typical Shakespeare" Ok, so not all are typical .. once saw Romeo & Juliet set in the future and most of the characters were depicted as ROBOTS! It is located in a very quaint small Ontario city. Like any other Ontario city your daughter will find a full range of restaurants where she should be able to use her travel credit card. There are as well a few food trucks (my fav is a chip wagon cause who doesn't love a fresh cut fry??) where she will of course need to pay with cash. You should perhaps check with the group to find out if they have already made arrangements for where they are eating, if that hasn't been planned you'll find a link to the dining that is available within this website. Your daughter will have a wonderful time wherever she ends up dining! Another quick comment, while she will see a full range of outfits, several patrons use this as a chance to get, as my granny used to say, "guzzied up"

I go to the Stratford Festival every year. You can use a credit card in the theatres and outside in the town. In the theatres you can get sandwiches and pastries. If you'd like to eat at an actual restaurant in the festival area I HIGHLY recommend reservations in advance. During the festival almost everywhere in the downtown festival area is sold out. There are some chain restaurants on the main commercial strip into the downtown festival area that won't be sold out though.

I live a block away from the theater and there are plenty of schools taking in the afternoon plays right now. If they are looking for a good inexpensive place to eat, I would recommend "Features" restaurant. It is downtown opposite the Tim Hortons. For what its worth, it is the restaurant of choice by many of the younger theater actors.
