Hi!

Can anyone help me make a plan for July 4th? Here is the basic idea... It is EMH for AK. We have a PS for Breakfastsaurus at 10am. We could pass on Kilimanjaro if needed but would like to do ITTBAB for the first time. We would like to be out of the park by early afternoon. We also have the following Friday EMH for AK also.

Here is my start, so far: Ride Kilimanjaro, then ITTBAB. (Should be close to 9ish by now, right?) Then Dinosaur, grab FP for Kali, do breakfast, ride Kali (if FP time is right). Should be close to noonish by now, right? Then head back to resort...

Now, is this doable or is there a better plan. The only problem I see is that we can't get in any shows that day... all the shows would be after noontime, and since it is the 4th, we need swim time & nap time to be up til after 10 at Epcot. (3 small kids). Now we might (depending on time) make the 11:40am show of Pocahontas but that is doubtful.

Now the other idea would be to do KALI after ITTBAB (with Ponchos  ), then FP dinosaur before breakfast, then dinosaur then Tarzan Rocks at noon. That could be a better plan, except we're riding Dinosaur after we eat  .

OK, now that I probably totally confused you... which would you do or can you think of a better plan?

Is Kilimanjaro/ITTBAB/Kali too much walking/backtracking?

Oye... panicking, can you tell?

Karen

I'm not sure if it's realistically "do-able" or not (sorry), but IMO I like your first plan better. Mainly because I would rather ride Kali last than end up eating breakfast wet!

The walking may not be too bad if you could have only 1 adult run for all the FastPasses while another stayed in Dinoland with the kiddos, then head to breakfast.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful, but maybe someone with July 4th experience will be able to advise.

I'd go to Tough to be a Bug first thing. You have to walk by the Tree of Life anyway! If someone in your party doesn't want to do Bug, have them go get FP for the Safari, or just ride it after Bug, then head to Donald's.

Save Kali for right before you go home, as it will be hottest mid-day and you can get wet! Then head out.

I'd avoid the AK on July 4 if it's an EMH. You may spend more time waiting in line than if you'd visited on a non-EMH day. Even if you have a perfect touring plan.

I mentioned in another thread that when our statistican reviewed the data from last year's Christmas research trip, he noticed that it took longer to see everything in the AK on an EMH day than a non-EMH day. We attribute this to a relatively small number of attractions being open, with relatively small capacities. EMH at the other parks tends to help, though.

Hope this isuseful. If I was going to be in one park for July 4, it'd be Epcot, which can handle crowds pretty well. And I'd get a book with good touring plans. *cough*

Sincerely,

Len

See...I just knew you'd get some advice from and expert! :p

I officially retract my earlier suggestion and go with what len said! ;)

Unfortunately, we have a PS at Breakfastsaurus (sp?) for 10am, so I can't exactly just change days... I will, however, put Kilimanjaro on hold and do this:

ITTBAB, head to Dinoland, Ride Dinosaur when it opens (while little ones & dh play in Boneyard), go to breakfast, after breakfast head to Tarzan (12 noon), then leave park. Maybe we will go back first thing Saturday morning, just to do Kilimanjaro and Kali, then head back to resort... Is this a better, more relaxed plan?

Karen
