On one of our days, we plan to do mk fantasyland only for about 5 hours. It will be an extra magic day so 8am start. How successful will we be at hitting dumbo, sdmt or Peter Pan in the first hour? Or should I target less popular attractions the first hour and just book fast passes at 9:00, 10:00, 11:00 and consider it a bonus if we get short wait between 8 and 9 for those?

Either way is fine. Don't overthink it too much... Would you rather follow the mob to SDMT? Or veer off to an empty part of the park? You really can't go wrong, you'll get on lots of stuff. You say you're only going for about 5 hours, but that's our typical stay in a park. We get on tons. By being there pre-open and then the first 4 hours of regular open, you'll have the lightest crowds possible. And provided you have FastPasses booked for the last 3 hours of your morning, you won't be waiting for pretty much anything.

How I would plan that, depends on whether you have a FP to SDMT and PP. Ideally... FPs to SDMT and PP during your last 2 hours of your day, so you can hit up Tomorrowland in the morning. Then transition to Fantasyland, use your FPs, wait out Dumbo in between the two, and you're good.

Thanks for the input. My plan was to dedicate one morning to fantasyland (followed by character lunch) and hit the other lands on a second morning. With a preschooler, most of the key attractions will be in fantasyland.

That is a good plan. Many parents with small kids stick to Fantasyland in the morning so there will be some crowd, but if you have FP for SDMT and PP, the rest of the attractions in Fantasyland are usually very manageable. If you want to do meets, then you will have to make some choices.

You may as well book 3 FPs that will save you the most time: PP, Pooh, and 7DMT. Hit other rides or even your FP rides at rope drop. It's always nice to have a 2nd ride with very little wait via a FP.

I would actually book FPs for 9:30, 10:30, and 11:30 to maximize your time. That way you can use your first FP at 10:25 and still get your last one done as early as 11:30.

And, definitely use your FP on Pooh, Peter Pan, and Mine Train. Everything else will have little wait between 8:00 and 10:15.
