We plan to go to Animal Kingdom in the morning and then HS in the late afternoon/evening and stay for Fantasmic.
I am considering rope drop at AK and do safari right away, then Everest. We have lunch reservations at Tusker House at 11 so maybe a show after lunch. Then see how much stamina we have to wander around.
But I was wondering if it's better to save my FP for HS - we will go there around 3/4pm. We could FP Toy Story and Star Tours and another ride.
Good idea? Too much crammed into one day? It's our last day so it's okay if it's exhausting.

You didn't mention it, so I'm assuming not, but are you trying to get anything in Pandora done on this day? If not, you'll have the rest of AK almost to yourselves (or it'll feel that way) for at least the first hour after rope drop. I would definitely save your fastpasses for HS.

I'm still considering Avatar land. I don't want to wait in huge lines and I know my 5 year old won't care too much about it and is probably too short for the big ride. I didn't even want to go to AK but my husband insisted on the safari.

With the scenario you outlined I would definitely make your FP+ selections for Hollywood Studios. You can get a lot done from 9:00 to 11:00 at AK prior to your lunch reservation.
