Hi,
I was wondering if anyone would like to share their thoughts on how to tour MK and AK with a 5yr and 2yr old boy? Where is the best place to start when the gates open? What is a must see and what can we skip for boys this age? We will be at MK Oct.31st. We will also be there for MNSSHP that evening and AK the next day.

TIA
Chris

We just went (2 weeks ago) with a 5 year old boy and 2 year old girl. I am a subscriber to touring plans dot com...and I used the "Boys 4-8" touring plan on our first day at MK...and used the "dumbo or die in a day" plan on our 2nd morning at MK.

For AK we used the Plan for parents with small children.

One year subscirption to all plans is $6.95. PLUS they have MNSSHP plans that focus either on attractions or getting treats.

It really depends on what your boys like. Hitting Buzz Lightyear FIRST was of utmost importance to our little guy...so we hit it first.

Depending on your likes or dislikes, I'd hit the following FIRST THING in MK...
Indy Speedway
Dumbo
Mad Tea Party

Lines get long pretty quick for those.

in AK..I'd hit the Safari first. Our kids werent too much in the "zoo" mode...so if your kids are not, I'd suggest hitting DinoLand in AK.

FYI...a suprise to us...but our son LOVED all three thrill rides at Future World in Epcot. If I had it to do over, I'd spend more time at EPCOT and less at AK.

I'm going next week with my DBF and his 4year old grandson. We will be at MK on the 2nd and since it is an EMH morning I thought we would go to Buzz Lightyear first (he can't wait for this one!). Then do Indy Speedway, then head to Fantasyland and do Dumbo, Pooh, Snow White, Peter Pan, IASW and Philharmagic. After that we'll head over to Frontierland then Adventureland. Once we've gone through once, we'll see wht he wants to go back to. This will be the first time we go alone with the grandson. Should be quite an adventure! pirate:

I went w/my 2 & 4 yr. old last year and would recommend getting there before opening and proceeding directly to Fantasyland. It is day and night how crowded that area is in the morning compared to afternoon. From there I would head to Tomorrowland and then to lunch. One more tip, I would definitely rent a double stroller even if the 5 year old never rides in one anymore. Our 4 yr old didn't ride in a stroller anymore and we rented one and were glad we did. It really conserved his energy and he used it a lot.
