Strangest Product Refund I have ever received

I posted last week about buying Grove Square Coffee K-cups (DON'T BUY THEM!). I had contacted the company about my dissatisfaction with their product and they said they would send me a refund.

So I get an envelope from them today and inside is the standard form letter "So sorry you didn't like it blah blah blah" and a TEN DOLLAR BILL! Yep, cash. I have never ever in my life heard of a company sending cash. DH thinks they must be trying to keep the refunds off the books for some reason. Even stranger is that the retail price for the product was a little less than $8 so I ended up making $2 on it.
