Hi,

I have a brand new bottle of perfume on ebay and I just received the following question from an ebay member:

"Hi, my friends are having a wedding in 15 days and I'd like to make a present for them. I'd like your item in the gift wrap with a card inside for a bride/groom. Also I want you to send $800 via Money Gram (www.moneygram.com) to them as an additional part of my present. The only problem is I want to make them surprised and don't want them to know that the present is from me. I'll pay for your item, packaging, Money Gram and PayPal fees via PayPal. I'm live in USA but they live in Ukraine (European country). Please let me know if you could help me with that! I want you to ship everything to them directly and to send the money present via Money Gram. I could even pay you for a trouble let's say $200 - please understand it's very important for me! I hope to hear from you soon! Have a nice day!"

This is the weirdest thing I have received on ebay. It stinks of a scam. Has anyone ever gotten anything like this? I'm not sure if I should even respond. The person who sent the question has been an ebay member for 5 years. :confused3

Thanks!

Mary

I've never gotten anything like that, but it sounds like a scam to me!

About 6 mo ago someone posted here about having recieved the same type of request. I remember that all of the replies warned that it is a scam, so I'll bet you get the same here.

It does sound weird to me, but if they send you the money via paypal, then ??????????????????

They are probably using a stolen credit card.

DO not do it! I am a Mary Kay consultant and someone sent me an email wanting to buy 25 different bottles of fragrances from me and mail them to some foriegn country (can't remember which one).

I was suspicious so I called the company that processes credit cards for me in my business and they said absolutely it was a scam and lots of consultants had gotten the same message and some had even sent the orders only to have their account charged back when the credit card number was found to be stolen.

I emailed the "customer" back and requested a money order and never heard back. SO DON'T DO IT! If it feels a little suspiciuos- then it probably is!

Don't do it me and my Dad have both gotten this request numerous times and it is a scam. They will use a stolen CC to pay through Paypal.

Don't do it. Also block them from bidding on your items.

Thanks everyone. I figured it was a scam but thought I'd pass it through you guys as I know we have alot of ebayers here. I'm gonna report her and as someone suggested block her from bidding on my item.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Mary
