Strange question - cheese!!!

Can anyone tell me which type of cheese available in the States is the closest to cheddar - i.e. suitable for cheese on toast etc?

You can buy cheddar in Orlando in all the supermarkets.

Last time in publix they had English cheddar, Scottish cheddar and Canadian.
