Strange question about gift cards

We leave for Disney 3 weeks after Christmas, so our plan is to only buy the kids a few toys from Santa and then our big present will be gift cards to Disney. We are going on a big family trip and since we are also giving our niece/nephews the giftcards (and they are all under 10) I'm thinking it would difficult to remember which one belongs to which kid. I saw that you can order the cards online in different characters which is fantastic! However, my grocery store gives gas perks and they have doubled the gas perks until Christmas ($.20 off for every $50 spent). My question is can I buy the gift cards at my local store to get the gas perks and then use those gift cards to order the different character gift cards from the Disney site? Otherwise I guess we can just use a label maker and put their names on the cards. Thanks!

I don't know the answer to your question about buying the card, but I can tell you that I always write on my gift cards with a Sharpie, to identify who they belong to. If it is a gift card that I'm not using the entire balance of for one purchase, I also write the remaining balance of available fund directly on the gift card after each person...it makes it so much easier to keep track of than keeping receipts with the card in my wallet (particularly with my Dunkin Donuts gift cards).

I know that this is not your question, but if you purchase cards at Sam's Club, you receive a complimentary $10 card (to be used at Disney Store or Disney store online) for every $100 card. I called and the $100 card can be used to pay Disney resorts.... If you go to Sam's and pick up a card there is a number to call with any questions- in case you are like me and really want to make sure that it will work.

I bought 18 to pay for our dining plan (we are renting points). I used part of the $180 during the 20% sale and free shipping last week online. I did have to call to use multiple gift cards to make the purchase.

By the way- the cards at Sam's are very cute! They are all the characters in a winter scene. Adorable.

No. It says on the back of the gift card "This gift card may not be used towards the purchase of any Disney Gift Cards or Disney Dollars."

Thanks for the answers! The Sams cards will give me about the same discount as the gas discount (I would rather have the gas!) I'll just buy them from our grocery store and use the label maker or a marker to put their names on them. Just thought they would love having their own special card with their favorite character on it.

Just think if you use the marker or label maker then no one fights over which card they got. You know how kids are... I wanted mickey how come billy got mickey, I don't want donald etc etc...

Have a great trip!
