Strange Pop-Ups

Sorry, I didn't know where to post this, and I know this page gets a lot of traffic. I thought people should know I have gotten some strange pop ups while on the disboards this morning. One of them said I was the winner of a desktop. Another said I was the champion and not to leave the page. I was afraid to click on them b/c I didn't know if it would be a virus or something. I just hit escape to get away from it because there was no X to click it shut.

I just got another that says: This site says: Wheel of Fortune...

I got a couple of wheel of fortunes ones too on Chrome but when I switched to Safari, I haven't seen any.

I think there's a thread on the community board about this as well but I haven't been effected or read it.

Install a pop-up blocker on your browser.

And don't click on them.

It doesn't appear to be a locally installed piece of software, it appears to be rogue advertising on the boards. I've had it happen on several of my PCs and I can say with full confidence they are not infected with malware/spyware/adware/etc.

Point taken, but any time I start seeing weird pop-ups, I run RogueKiller. If the ads can go rogue and start pushing pop-ups, they can just as easily be pushing malware.

But this is more appropriate discussion for the Tech Support board...

I'm getting them as well. Coming from this site because if I'm in another tab when one pops up it puts this tab in front! I'm using Chrome.

I am getting redirects on my iPhone (safari) that's taking me from Safari to the app store (to Uber, which ironically I already use and recommend). The offending redirect site seems to be trck2.go2trck.com. It looks like it redirects through a couple of screens before opening the app store. Can someone PLEASE see about fixing this? I can't even read the pages on the forum I was trying to get to. It won't load them at all before popping open the app store.
