Strange names....

We have a gynocologist in our area named Dr. Handwerker.

We too had a Crystal Ball in our town. She wasn't born that way, but her mom had her when she was single and once married she changed her dd's name (kind of mean isn't it?). We have an Autumn Moon (not too bad) at the school I teach at. We had a Rideau (reeee---dough) ... a girl. We also had a Jubilee. Noticed an announcement in the paper the other day of a little guy named Brick ... why in the heck would you name a kid that? Brick Wolfe .... hope he doesn't grow up to be ... ahem ... "large boned" or he will be labelled as being "built like a brick s---house" .... :confused3

Simple, normal, pronouncable names are best. Kids can be cruel, especially today. Don't start them out labelled with these horrible names!!!

Kerri

I do like unusual names, but I prefer established names.

Oh, I forgot...I went to college with a guy named Pleasant Willie Ground. Doesn't he sound like a character in a Steven King novel?

I have a customer by the name of Loda Zoda. I really have to compose myself before I call her. :goodvibes

I worked with a girl who's last name was Bell. She named her daughter Chrystal.

I knew a girl named Christmas Angel. She was born in August.

I have a friend whose maiden name is Ball and her father's name is Harry--you do the math!

I met a guy at a fraternity party at Mizzou whose name was Cash Register IV. I didn't believe him, so he showed me his pic on the composite (and his license), and sure enough...What I can't believe is that his family thought it was a good enough idea that they subjected four generations to it!

Who would do that to a kid? :lmao:

Richard *ick - went by 1st name beginning with D - why would you ever :confused3
Society
Ricochet
April May Bejune

When I was pregnant we always laughed at some peoples choices for names  I couldn't even pick some names for my daughter because I couldn't imagine her marrying someone and having a name like Ball or something that could be twisted Hi, I'm Anita and I took my husbands name Ball - so I am Anita Ball :rotfl2: no thank you.

Apparently, Mr. & Mrs. Cash Register III. ;) Poor guy.

My mom dated a man by the name of Harold Legg... yes, he went by Harry (Legg). If my mom had married him (they were serious I guess) she would have been Peg Legg :teeth:

I used to work with a girl who named 1 of her children Summer Eve, because that is when she was concieved. Also have worked with someone who named their son Knight and another who named theirs Cosmo.

My Dad told me when he was a kid there was a girl at his school named Iva Hiney. He said on the first day when the teacher was calling roll, she didn't call that name thinking it was a joke. At the end, some poor girl said, "You didn't call my name." Yup...it was Iva.

One of my friend's old boss's name was Penny Money.

i have a co-worker named Sue Ball. it just makes me laugh whenever i hear it.

I have a friend whose last name is Legg and growing up another friends mom would constanly ask her if her moms name was Peg

A person I email all the time for work is named Candace A. Cain. I am sure she is unhappy about it because she never uses Candi and always uses her middle initial.

My Grandpa's name is LeBaron which evryone thinks is odd but was normal to me growing up. He forbid my Mom from giving it to my brother as a middle name.

Not a name but my name is Amy and my initials spell out AMY and my brothers spell out RAY my parents are dorks :teeth:

I always thought it would be cool to do that. My last name starts with a V, though, so there aren't many names I could use.

Yeah, I'm a dork, too.

My mom was telling me about some of the people she’s met over the years.

Ima who married Mr. Bore.

Holly and Cherry Berry

Alison who married Mr. Wonderland

Dr. Quakenbush

in social services we saw lots of terrible names on birth certificates-we called them 'demerol decisions' (mom told the nurse the name while still medicated :teeth: ), some of the most unique/worst names i personaly saw on birth certs were-

chasetitty (mom insisted that was the correct spelling of chastity  )
his royal majesty
my prescious (this was a BOY's name)
fudge
baby boy/baby girl/noname (no name)-this was when the mom did'nt name before the baby left the hospital and they never 'got around' to doing it so the name 'stuck' :rotfl: ).

and the worst a brother and sister who's names were 'ima' and 'fonda' with a last name that rhymes with 'socks' and refers to a part of the male anatomy :sad2:

i went to school with a family with the last name of furnace-the dd's name was 'ashley' and the ds's was 'cole'

There's a doctor in our area named Dr. Franklin M. Stein.
There used to be a radio newscaster named Reka Dupis (probably spelled wrong but pronounced that way). Always sounded like a disease to me.
