Strange happenings with Flex Pay AP's...Anyone else have this happen?

I forgot to mention this when we returned from our tirp this summer.

On our first day at the Universal parks we went to get the pictures taken for our AP's and have them activated. We went to the main building for activating them and they said we needed to go to guest services for something and then come back to them.

We went to guest services and she said there was something wrong with the switch they made in their system and they could not activate our passes at that time. We were each given tickets for the number of days we were going to be there and a special FOTL pass for the duration as well. Of course we didn't need the FOTL pass because we were staying onsite but it was a nice gesture.

She told us that they would have to activate our passes the next time we came. I told her that we would not be back for a year and she said that was not a problem that our passes would be good for a year from when we activate them on our next trip.

Just wondering if anyone else had this happen?

Yeah it is a great deal! I sure didn't complain and the special FOTL pass was for our TROUBLE!

I'll report back on what happens with us. I got the AP's using Flex pay because we will be back next July.

Sounds like you guys made out great! :sunny:

That's really strange. Are they still charging your credit card each month for your flex-pay even though they aren't activated?

What's really great about the flex pay is I bought ours in June, but we are not going until August. I called when I got them because I wanted to see if they would expire one year from the date of purchase of one year from the date of first use. The lady told me one year from the date of first use.

I don't think it would be fair to make them expire one year from the date of purchase because the website says allow 2 weeks to get your vouchers, and I don't believe I seen will call as an option. So, my first charge came through in June, but I received the passes around the second week in July.

I just liked the fact that you could pay them 12 equal payments with no interest. :flower:

Flex pay annual passes are a great deal for those who have large familes or groups and cannot pay for them up front. It is true that the Flex pay annual pass expires a year from first day of use and not the first day of purchase. The reason the passes could not be redeemed is Universal Orlando just switched from a DOS based system to a windows based system and in the beginning of the trasisition was upable to process annual pass photos but everything works great now and will be able to process your passes in your visit.

Yes we are still being charged for the passes. We must have gone right after the system change from the way she talked.

We will be able to get three years worth of use off of those AP's.
