Back when I was 13, on a trip with my 8 year old sister and parents, my sister and I were having a picture taken with a cast member in the figment and timekeeper costume. During the photo, he leaned over and asked me how old I was. When I responded that I was 13, he said "Don't tell your parents I asked..." I didn't really think anything about it for the longest time. You just don't think about child molesters at WDW...

Sure glad you posted that here on the RUMOR board. I know it's Rumors and News, but this obvious isn't news Please...did that "character" molest you?

OH GOSH NO!! He did not molest me. I have often wondered why he asked my that and why he told me not to tell my parents. Everytime I go to EPCOT, I think about that. It was14 years ago. Thanks for the concern though.

It's my understanding that costumed charactors never speak - face charactors yes, full costumed no. He possibly realized he screwed up when he spoke to you and didn't want you telling anyone.

The Timekeeper was a "face character" The timekeeper was just a man in a body costume with only make up on his face, and he was holding figment in his arms... I will try to find the photo and put it on here, I still have it....

Dreamfinder, folks. Dreamfinder. Now, carry on.

I remember the Dreamfinder as seeming to know the answer to alot of questions. He knew my name!!!! Of course I realize now he had had an aside conversation with my mother, but at the time I was facinated. That's part of the reason I'm one of figments friends. (My name isn't common):hyper:

How old was this Dreamfinder? If you were 13, even someone 18 or 20 would look old to you, but maybe they were really young too and just curious about you. It sounds weird, him saying don't tell your parents and all, but I guess there could be lots of reasons and you never will know the real one.

I know the "major" Dreamfinders (those who did the posiiton full-time, as opposed to the fill-ins). If it was 14 years ago it would have been Steve, who was in his 30's then. Steve was the primary Dreamfinder for 15 years, until they eliminated the position.

He might have said to not tell your parents, since he would whisper things to kids. However, his whisper was a "stage whisper", where the voice actually carrys a lot but sounds to the recipient as if it is quiet.

He would always say something designed to get the children either to laugh or to be embarrassed. One of his favorites is asking a boy (about six) if the girl with him (probably sister) was his wife. Also, his Figment puppet would often grab a child's baseball hat by the bill and then give it a gentle toss.

We got Figment back, now we want Dreamfinder back!

When I responded that I was 13, he said "Don't tell your parents I asked..."
You chose to tell us and not your parents at the time???? Strange. . . .
You just don't think about child molesters at WDW...
Hey; guess what, WDW has all the problems of "The Real World". No pun intended.

For the record, I said " I really didn't think about it for the longest time". I made no mention about telling my parents. I did, actually, tell my parents, just minutes after it happened. They apparently thought that it was not any big issue. What I meant, was that I really did not think about it in a "harrassment" way, until many years later. As a 13 year old, I really did not think about him being a child molester. At that time, I just thought it was a really strange comment. As being an adult now, and looking at how the world is, I CAN see that it is a very odd think to say to a child. I NEVER said that he touched me, I only stated that it was a STRANGE comment to make. Looking back on it, this many years later, I just wonder why he even had that type of response, when I told him my age. That is just not a common response to " How old are you?".

I'm confused. If all he did was ask your age and told you not to tell your parents how is that harrassment? Did he do something else?

I wouldn't give it a second thought.

All she is saying is that thinking back now to the comment that was made back then....it leaves her with a weird feeling.

I agree that is a weird thing to say. I too wonder if there was not some other intention.
