Strange coincidences....we all have them, and very often we overlook them until later on.
Several strange, but comforting coincidences have happened to me recently.
As you all know by now, my 20 y.o. nephew was killed last weekend in a car accident.
I truely believe his death served a purpose. To wake the rest of us up, to stop and enjoy the finer things in life, to stop and smell that flower you just walked by, to stop whining and complaining and appreciate all that life has to offer.
The first coincidence came when my DH put his hand into his suit pocket. He last wore that suit to the funeral of his co-worker's 6 year old son who drowned last summer. In that pocket was a prayer program for the church service. On the front was his name, and date of birth and death. Also on the front were those famous praying hands you see on sympathy cards, in churches, etc. Well, it just so happens that our nephew recently got a tattoo of those praying hands on his back. They are also using that for his headstone.
The second conincidence was today. We were sitting in traffic, complaining about it instead of looking around at all the beautiful full and green trees. The sun is shining today--an unusual occurrance lately. Then I noticed that the license plate on the car in front of us had "Sean" on it. It changed my attitude immediately. I looked up, and said "hi Sean" with a smile on my face.
