Well I have been dreaming about going on a cruise again (have been on 2) and was interested to hear some of you were offered kids free special promotion on seven night, but code was named for that person. I wanted it and wondered how could I get special offers too. So I went on Disney Cruise site and request info and video through my hubby's name who has never been on cruise. And guess what happen...........A Disney Cruise specialist called me today. He was wonderful and had lots of promos to offer me. Including Kids cruise free seven days. Also overall his prices were $1000 less on the dates I wanted with not kids free. WOW. He gave me his direct # and e-mail for the future. Thought pretty interesting and great prices. Some thoughts for you.

That is really strange to get a phone call just for signing up your hubby at the site. I know there was another poster who signed his whole family up at the site and any other Disney thing he could think of and I think they got a pin code offer in the mail or something....but to get a phone call out of the blue is odd. They may be really looking for business. I have never heard that before.

I have heard of them calling and offering to upgrade for a lower price if you were already booked.

Interesting!!

When you say a Disney Cruise Specialist called you, does this person actually work for DCL or are they from another travel agency? Does their email address end in disney.com?
If this person does work for DCL it's very strange they would call with offers for someone not booked.

We received calls from Inventory Control with free upgrades. Not sure if they still do this.

Pretty crazy. And yes this was a direct phone call and then follow-up e-mail from Disney Cruiseline. The phone goes directly to to "Kenny" Disney Cruiseline specialist and the e-mail is from Disneycruiseline.com. I really do think that is how I got the call because they called asking for my Husband. It was a call to offer or help us with planning a cruise. He had every promotion available and seem to have cat 12 anytime I asked. It was interesting. This has never happened to me before. I have cruised with my kids and mom on a three day in 2004 and a seven day this September. But my Husband has never been. Don't know if this is something new. Wanted to let you all know because since finding this site in August you all have been so great in all the inof you give me. Thanks.

Thanks for more info. That's very interesting they called you.

So the question now is....are you going to book a cruise with one of the offers?

I just googled "disneycruiseline.com". There were many sites to click on but none with that exact name. something doesn't sound right.

I am surprised that anyone from DCL had time to call anyone yesterday with the Dream opening for booking.

#1. Did you book a cruise?
#2. What did "Kenny" do/say when he found out that you had, indeed, cruised before? Did he say "oops" or anything? ;)

It sure sounds like an un-advertised promotion to attract new (never sailed before) Disney cruise customers, eh? If *I* could book a Cat 12 for any date I wanted, I sure would.... Kenny could've gotten me to book 2 or 3 cruises with him, right then.

Awesome! I am assuming that with the economy they are following up on every lead they get. Just from shopping around it seems many cabins are going unfilled and I assume they are really down.

Anyway I hope that worked to your advantage and you got a sweet deal!

I do think the offer was to attract new people, why they called my hubby who I signed up as never before cruised, which is true. I did call back and they were still very helpful with great deals. I did not book, so sad because airfare was too high. He told me to call back whenever and he would help. It was great to get the call but a little frustrating how it came about. Its seems like their catering to new people instead of the great people I have found of this site, who love and support Disney. It was interesting and if the info can help anyone then that would be great.
