Okay, one last food question for Disneyland. You would think that as much as we go, I could anwser this, but we are usually just there for the day and don't do TS. Now we are going for 2 nights and need TS meals. I have reserved Blue Bayou for one night and need an idea for the next night.

I was thinking of either Storytellers or Rain Forest. Which do you think would be better. We have 2 kids ages 5 and 3. Also, we will be going to WDW a month later and will be eating at Rain Forest there, but my daughter LOVES rainforest.

For my family, I would do Storytellers. But that's because I think the storm sounds at Rainforest might scare my little ones a bit ~ I went to a RFC in the Mall of America, and it was pretty darn loud! Another reason is that we have a RFC locally, so could do it anytime.

However, if you know your kids love RFC... And my guess is it would cost less than a resort restaurant. :confused3

If it's not the Character breakfast there really isn't much to look at for dinner at Storytellers. We did dinner there once, and it was okay, pretty expensive for the food IMO.

We love the RFC and for dinner the atmosphere is much better then Storytellers.

We did not find the food at Storytellers very good. It may be a great experience for the small ones.

We've been to Storyteller's 3 times and finally gave up on it. The food is not very good and the service is horrible!

We love RFC and eat there every time we go to DL!

I have a soft spot for Rainforest. Even tho many do not like it and complain it is overpriced, we love it. They have a huge menu and the atmosphere is unique, entertaining and fun. I vote for Rainforest Cafe.:goodvibes

Oh no! I have reservations to both of these places whe we go in a fortnight, having never tried either before. Is Storytellers really no good then? Would Ralph Brennan's be better do you think?

Thanks for anyhelp!

I have to agree with this.We did Storytellers for breakfast one time..and..while the food was okay..nothing special...no one who worked at Storyteller's cared if the characters came to every table..We waited 45 minutes for Jane to come to our table..she never did..then left..I went to the server and told her (at other places they actually come and make sure the characters have visited all the children) she said...we have no control over any of that..then turned and left...

I also prefer Rainforest, more for the adventure than anything else. Some love the food at Storytellers (the corn chowder I think has been highly recommended). The only time I went for dinner, the food was fine, but not particularly memorable. I remember the host was very nice. I recall he charged me a kids price even though I told him my DS was just over the kid's age cutoff. Rainforest has been more of an experience for us.

Rainforest is great fun - but a lot of noise and pretty expensive. We have found though, our children like the appetizers there and there is enough food on one appetizer plate for a filling meal for a child. If you have never visited a Rainforest Cafe - I highly recommend doing it at least once. The atmosphere is unbelievable. If you have small children who might be afraid of the lightning, let the host/hostess know and they will seat you away from the loudest noises.

Pooh's-Honey-Pot asked about Brennans - Ralph Brennans is fantastic (in my humble opinion) but then I am a pushover for a good creme brule' !

I have eaten at Storytellers, and loved it (years ago). The corn chowder is yummy. We went there last year and were disappointed though. It just was not the same service and the food was just mediocre.

Unless your children are frightened of loud noises and you don't have one near you, I would go with RFC. We don't have one locally so for us, its a must do each trip to DL. And their portions are large enough to share for the adults and the kids. We have never one time each gotten our own meal and have never been able to finish what we did order! I am like lulubelle, it just has a soft spot for me and my family.

We just ate at RFC last Wednesday night and I thought it was a bit pricey especially since it has no characters to come around and visit. However, I had some awesome pasta, my dd got this great light-up souvenier cup, the restaurant did have fun animals and thunderstorm sounds and we liked it overall.

Usually we go up to the walk-up window at a place in DTD and eat where we can people watch and listen to the musicians playing but with our granddaughter we wanted to do the whole experience so we splurged a bit.

My favorite meal was at Ariel's Grotto and every single princess came up to our table and they kept my iced tea glass full so it was worth it!

We have always had excellent food and amazing service at Storytellers. I mean, we mentioned to the waitress how nice it was after the lousy service we'd gotten at Blue Bayou and she went off and came back with front of line passes for the ride of our choice to make up for the bad BB experience.

If you go, don't miss the bread pudding- they make it from pastries.

It is amazing how different people come up with so many different opinions about the same place..lol..I didn't like Storyteller's..but I have never had a bad experience at BB..in all the years I have been going...
