Storytellers Cafe will be closed beginning on March 3, 2025 through at least March 28, 2025. This is for a refurb and I expect it will be a few weeks.

Interesting. Maybe related to Napa Rose next door?

Maybe they can improve the buffet setup. I don't think it's organized very well for the buffet character meals and the lines can get backed up.

I think it is going to be refreshed like the rest of the GCH. I do not think improvements for the buffet set up is happening.
Not related to Napa Rose.
Storytellers will open up before Napa Rose closes.

Not much they can do with the set-up. It was built as a table service restaurant, there isn’t sufficient space to create a true buffet serving area.

It turns out you were onto something. According to permits filed with Anaheim Storytellers will be adding 2 additional buffet stations in the remodeling and refreshing.

I can't keep track of all of the threads regarding GCH restaurant closures.

It looks like the character brunch will be in the Trillium room in March and the princess tea will be there in April. https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/grand-californian-hotel/storytellers-cafe/

"During the time of closure, Mickey’s Tales of Adventure Breakfast Buffet and Brunch will be available in the Trillium Room. Celebrate with Mickey Mouse and some of his closest pals."

What is the Trillium room like? I just got a reservation at storytellers for the week of march 12th and now I am not sure if the vibe will be ruined or not?

It is one of their banquet rooms. It is craftsman style like the rest of the hotel.

They will have a buffet and the characters will be there. What vibe you are looking for that might be ruined?

It's one of their general ballrooms, hopefully Disney will setup nice tables and theming.

This is a wedding advertisement picture-

I have never been to storytellers before or stayed at the hotel so wasn't sure if it was going to be a lesser experience being in a banquet room.

Has anyone done the breakfast or brunch while Storyteller's is closed? How was the food, ambience etc? I made a reservation for mid-May but it seems way less charming if it's still in the banquet hall.

We did it this month and I didn’t like it. They had a limited menu and the vibes were off.
Thank you! This is what I was wondering about. I think I'll cancel if they haven't switched back to Storytellers when it's time for my reservation.

I’ve never gone to storytellers when it was in its regular restaurant but it def felt off compared to when we did goofys and plaza inn character dining. Kind of disappointed because it was full price still even with a limited menu.

Agreed. We just did dinner and felt like it wasn’t worth it. They charged the same price with limited menu and seating in the middle of a meeting room. Still had the bread pudding however. Of note, our waiter said with the refurb they were turning dinner into character dining. I’m guessing that will increase the price which would be unfortunate.
