I heard that there some really neat story telling for kids and us grown up kids at the Animal Kindom Lodge at night. If so does anyone know what it's like and is it fun for the kids?
We went, it was nice. It doesn't last long, but if you want a chair you will want to come a little early, once it starts more people start coming around.
Actually our FAVORITE activity at AKL was when they let you view the animals with the night vision goggles. I had never used these before, so it was interesting to be able to 'see' where you couldn't see without them.
We enjoyed the storytelling when we were there in May. We had dinner at Jiko, then went outside and got chairs by the fire about 15 minutes before the scheduled time for the storytelling. It was great! Our kids were 2 and 4 at the time, and they loved it. They still quote part of the story. It was very entertaining for all ages.
The CM who was telling the story was very nice, and great with kids. She got a nice surprise when her story was over. Her dad, whom she hadn't seen in several months, surprised her with a visit. She was so happy! She was crying and hugging her dad, and I had tears in my eyes just watching their happy reunion. Such a great memory.
Does anyone know what time the storytelling is usually scheduled? I would like an idea of what time I should make my dinner ps? Also, does anyone know the time for the night vision goggles?

I just don't remember. I want to say around 7:00 pm, but I am just not sure. When you check in they give you a schedule of activities at the Lodge and it will be on that.
