Considering Story Tellers for the first time. Are there characters at Lunch and Dinner? And which characters do you typically see. I have heard of Chip and Dale being the main, but any others that you have seen? Also is this Buffet or just order off the menu? On All Ears all I see is are menu items, which is ok, just curious.

Thanks!

Characters are only present for breakfast. You have the option to order either the buffet or off the menu. Chip and Dale are the hosts, so you should see them. You also see other woodland creatures. We have seen Baloo, Turk from Tarzan, a bear from Brother Bear, and the racoon from Pocahantas. The face character is a park ranger. We have only been to this meal twice, years apart. The food is very tasty, but we found the character interaction not nearly as good as Minnie's or Goofy's. You are likely to see around 3-4 characters, 5 if you are lucky.

Characters are only present during breakfast. Lunch and Dinner is served in a normal restaurant setting though there is a buffet offered at dinner as well.

Characters that you'll see are "forest" themed. Pluto, Chip and Dale, Baloo, Brother Bears, Racoon from Pocahontas are usually there.

Have a magical time! :wizard:

Keep in mind that the buffet (which is small) is usually only about $5 or $6 more than the menu breakfast entrees, so if you have someone in your group who would be likely to make the most of a buffet, that is actually a better 'value,' I think. The menu items are too expensive for what they are, I feel ($18 is crazy for a couple of eggs, some toast and a couple of pancakes or waffles and 2 pieces of bacon or sausage), but they want you to pay for the character interaction so they make it expensive.

I've always seen Chip, Dale (but they can be found at 3 different character meals), Koda and Kenai (the Brother Bear characters). One or two times Terk was there. I saw Meeko (the raccoon from Pocahontas that has been previously mentioned) once or twice. The face character Park Ranger has never been there when I was there.

One time we even saw Pluto, which made very little sense to me. Rafiki used to appear there in the old days.

Baloo has never been at the Critter Breakfast when I've eaten there, though now that I think of it, I believe he did show up exactly as we were walking out on one occasion. I think I caught site of his tall shape out of the corner of my eye! But he was never there while we were eating. I always see him at Goofy's, but not at the Critter Breakfast, which is odd since that's a meal that features woodsy/jungly characters and he fits right into the jungly part of that theme!

Thanks for clarifying everybody:) I think we will skip the character meal of this. We always do Goofys, and I think we will stick to this one for our character dinner.
I am however contemplating adding Storytellers for lunch or dinner, as we have never been, and it seems like it has a decent menu. What do you all think of this restaurant for lunch/dinner. ?? I have also never seen the Grand Californian! Crazy I know! We will be there next week (so I may not get PS's for storytellers), but I thought it would be cool to check out the Grand Californian all decorated and eat at the same time.

To be honest, I prefer Storytellers for lunch or dinner over the Critter Breakfast - and I love character meals! I think I just don't care too much about that particular character meal.

Lunch seems to be a better 'bargain,' if you could call it that - the prices are lower than breakfast (comparatively), commensurate with lunchtime fare. Dinner doesn't seem to have a whole lot of options on the menu - and again, the buffet is a bit limited - but I like eating there.

Oddly enough, one dish they make very well at Storytellers (for lunch or dinner) is a simple one - spaghetti! Their spaghetti is delicious, with garlic, fresh herbs and yummy sauce. The garlic bread that comes with it is hit or miss - sometimes it has been sooo heavenly that I ordered a second batch of garlic bread because I couldn't get enough. It was that good. On another day, the garlic bread might be hard and kind of flat. But if you get a good batch of garlic bread - yum!

Sherry (my Christmas sister from another mister), I think their dinner is great! I had a steak and some corn chowder and both were amazing. :lovestruc Didn't try the garlic bread but sounds like I'm missing out.

It is also one of my family's favorite character meals of all time. We liked it so much more than Goofy's.
