My daughters' school usually holds a Winter Carnival on the last day of school before Christmas break and I was scheduled to be the Mystery Reader in a
3rd grade class and a 5th grade class(my daughter's). I was planning on reading Christmas at the Little House(Little House on the Prairie) to both classes. The day of the carnival ended up being a snow day and so it was rescheduled for tomorrow. I completely spaced about my part in it until yesterday, but figured I'd just read the story I had planned before. I told my 5th grader what I had planned on reading and she said, "Please don't." However, she oh so helpfully gave my NO other suggestions.
My question is should I pick something else, maybe something unChristmasy (It is so a word
) and if so, any suggestions for 3rd-5th graders? I think I have 15-20 min. per class. TIA! Christine
