OK so I have only been to WDW once and it was in Jan. We leave Sunday for a week in WDW. I know it is going to rain (more than likely pour) SO what kind of clothes should I plan on putting my kids (dd's 6,8) in?
I guess I am having trouble thinking that they would be warm enough in shorts/tank tops with rain like that. We plan on ponchos but not sure we got good enough ones (just bought the 5.00 ones in walmart)

Should I pack jackets/pants? HELP not sure exactly how this rain/weather works in Florida lol... (We are from Idaho so it's always cold here)

It's going to be hot and humid. Shorts and tanks or tshirts will be fine.

It does get cold walking into very AC's places soaking wet. Pants will only get wet because Disney puddles seemed to be very large last week :headache:

Definetly crocs for shoes since they are waterproof, sneakers DON'T dry overnight :sad2:

Avoid white.

Here's hoping you miss the rain entirely :goodvibes

I'd stick with shorts. It's hot and humid out, even when its pouring rain. My son wore board shorts mostly, because they dried so quickly.

We were there last week with Fay & we used the $1 disposable ponchos from Target and they worked fine. I actually liked the fact that they are thinner than the ones that Disney sells - so they are not quite as HOT inside. We brought several & used a plastic bag to hold them when we went inside.

Also, pack a towel in your backpack so you can dry off hands & faces when you get inside.

Crocs are great, but they are slippery! I am a croc lover and wore mine for our trip. I slipped a few times, and one time skinned myself up pretty well. We saw lots of little kids falling all over the place in the crocs. I think its when there is a hard rain and there is a layer of water on the pavement that everyone was slipping. I'd get some sandals with good tread on the bottom. Teva sandals would be a great choice. They can be soaking wet and still very comfy. I would not advise tennis shoes & socks because they will never dry.

Go and have fun. Just resign yourself to the fact that you're gonna get wet. Most of the rides still ran, and there is a ton of stuff to do inside at the parks. Even with the massive amounts of rain that fell on us, we still had a great time!

Definitely don't put them in jeans - they'll feel like steamed hot dogs! Puzzles advice is good - shorts, good walking sandals and cheap ponchos. That's our plan. Hadn't thought about the towel - thanks for the idea! They may get cold in some of the shows - but jeans will just be wet jeans and won't help warm them up any. The towel is the best idea on that.

The temperatures don't drop that much when it rains. And when the rain is over, it gets even muggier. Jeans are not going to work at all. You could take some very lightweight jackets for when you go into air conditioning but quite honestly, if the kids know they can put those on, they are going to want them every time. And you'll be at the entrance of every indoor place trying to struggle with getting ponchos off and jackets on.

Lightweight ponchos work just fine except for my husband. He wears his short length to just above the knee. The cheaper ponchos barely cover down that far so the hem portion of his shorts always get wet. I'm fine and kids should be fine. He's 5'6".

For footwear, I know people love Crocs and flip flops. But you do have to be careful, very careful, with those on wet surfaces. I took two pairs of sneakers and the one pair would dry while I wore the other. In an emergency, you can dry the best you can overnight and then lining the sneakers with napkins or paper towels and wearing two pair of socks (this worked extremely well for me).

We also take two ball caps for each of us as the bill protects your face from dripping water.

I'm so glad you all answered this question! My DH was just telling me last night that he wanted to pack jeans because of the rain. He thought it would get cold. I disagreed but told him I would check the boards. So glad I'm right! :)
