The forecast for this saturday is getting worse every time i look. Our plan was to see Fantasmic! for the first time, set up FP for it. I'm assuming they don't perform the show if there are thunderstorms at the time? I'm considering switching our FP to AK in the morning instead, and just waiting in the standby line for Fantasmic if it shows.

We booked the Fantasmic dinner package last year and the show ended up cancelled do to a thunderstorm. We could have gotten passes to use another time but we weren't going to be back in HS again at night.

If lightning is within the keep out zone area, they will evacuate the theater. You are sitting on metal benches (aluminum) and there are large metal supports holding the lighting rigs and speakers. If it is just rain, there are a couple of options. 1. They will cancel the show outright requiring everyone to leave. 2. They will run the rain delay show. This is a projection and pyrotechnics show they run without any performers. Once the firework shells are loaded they are generally obligated to shoot them off, so might as well let people see something than nothing.

You could always try for 4th Fast Pass+ availability for Fantasmic if you want to take a chance on one being available, unless of course it is a Must Do attraction for your family

When I went in Sep 2011 a storm came through and they cancelled the show. I still have yet to see Fantasmic! but will try again in Sep 2017. They really did try to wait as long as possible and actually cancelled it about 10-15 mins after the show was supposed to start hoping that the storm wouldn't get that close but unfortunately it did. I actually took video and some pictures of the storm clouds brewing. I know it's a huge bummer but weather is very unpredictable and they just have to schedule it hoping that each and every time it doesn't get rained or stormed out.

Our last trip, we thought they would cancel Fantasmic, but they didn't. The theater was full, and there were "nearby" thunderstorms. As in, you could see lighting in the distance, and the lighting would even illuminate the big "mountain" structure from behind (oddly enough, the structure was largely transparent - you could see the framework when the lightning flashed - what did they make it out of???). But, the storms stayed far enough away and the show went on anyway. I imagine their weather predictions are pretty good there, since I really thought the thing was going to be cancelled, and if the storm had moved our direction a bit, we'd have been right in it, but we stayed rain and lighting-free the whole time. The CMs did warn us (when we asked) that they would cancel the performance if the storm came out way. And, (which was our main concern), if you have the Fantasmic dinner package, there's no "raincheck".

Last week of March it was raining when we went into Fantasmic and they announced the possibility of cancelling the show but the rain stopped in time and we got the full show. We were very happy since we had the dinner package and got our favorite front row seats

It depends on the stage manager and safety crew that day. There are hard nos where the show won't perform (wind over a certain MPH, active rain, air to ground lighting with in a certain mileage, etc) and then there are other some situations that are left up to the crew to decide. One of the big ones is rain earlier or threat of rain but not lightening. Some stage managers will call the show for safety if it rained say 30 minutes before load in but no rain in the rest of the forecast because the benches won't be dry and people walk on them even though you aren't suppose to and other stage managers will let the show go on.

I've only been once when the show was canceled and it was a bummer simply because what they cancelled if for never happened. There weren't high winds and the rain never happened it was just "threats of" that cancelled the show. They originally were going to run "Fantasmic B" but even that was cancelled.

In December it started raining just before the 1st show was due to start. They waited a bit but eventually canceled it. It poured for an hour and the park cleared out. We decided to go back for the late show which went off without a hitch. Since that was at park closing - 10pm - and we were staying for EMH it worked out great for us. We even had the chance to walk through a nearly empty Osborne Lights as most guests left when it started to rain. We got some great pictures!

Fingers crossed! The forecast for today (wednesday) wasn't very promising either, but it stayed dry and mostly sunny all day. Yesterday however was a real downpour. Guess you just have to wait and see in Florida...

Our DHS evening is looking rainy. If canceled, do they give priority seating people an extra FP or anything for the trouble?
Also, does Tower of Terror run during storms?

A rainy evening at DHS may end up being an early one without Fantasmic.

When F! was cancelled a few weeks ago, our recovery pass was good for any ride/attraction in any park for the following day. This included those that are usually not included such as 7DMT, A+E, and TSMM

I saw Taste of Fantasmic! for the first time during my April trip.

Really enjoyed it-so cool to see the pyro for the whole show go off in just a few minutes!:)
I've been living in Orlando and an AP for the past 15 years and I have never seen this or the MK rain parade
