We have never been to BCV and I understand that the bottom of SAB has sand on it. Is that right? Is there a sandy area around the pool that the kids can play in or is that only out on the beach? My little guy loves digging in the sand so I didn't know whether or not to bring a bucket and shovel.

Thanks!

Theres definately a sandy area near the pool where the kids can dig

When we were there in May, they had a bunch of extra shovels and pails out in the sand area. During the afternoons we spent alot of time there and my son, who's 3, loved it.

The whole area around the sand area is probably only 2-3 ft deep, my son could run around the whole thing while I laid in the water and watched him.

Enjoy BCV, I know we'll be back there.

That sounds so awesome! I am so excited for him! Even better yet, it sounds like I don't have to bring a shovel and pail. If they don't have any we will have a rental car so we can pick something up for him at Walmart.

Oh, btw if there aren't any buckets or shovels, which there usually are, you don't have to drive anywhere, if you look at the pics they sell them at the pool store along with lots of other stuff.

I remember i didn't realize that the sand bottom was in the other areas too not just the kiddie area. It's nice walking along on it.

Or, if there are no buckets & shovel around, just buy your son a kid's meal from Hurricane Hannas (the grill at SAB) and it comes in a bucket with a shovel.

Fantastic! Thanks for all the tips! You all are the best!

He'll love it! That sand bottom at SAB is one main reason why I love BCV so much. It feels so good just to stand and squish your toes.
