We're staying at Beach Club for the first time next June. I'm hearing that people "rope drop" this pool. We're planning on 1 1/2 pool days. What time should you get to the pool & where are the best seats for shade. Thank you
There is normally a short line at the gates when Stormalong Bay opens, but I think it’s more linked to people being ready for the pool a little before 10 and so waiting by the gates in an organised manner (rather than waiting somewhere else), as opposed to being “rope dropping” as such. If you’re going to be ready anyway there’s no harm in being there at 9:55 but you don’t need to be there before 10 to get shade.

June is an extremely busy time of the year at Stormalong Bay. Crowd level will be at least 9 out of 10. I would get there by 7:00 AM and wait by the entrance.

Same here. I have been to YC for many years and know many of the early birds tricks. I just remove the towels on the chairs that no one has anything else hanging around such as shoes or other beach stuff. If it’s just towels, I will remove them.
I have experienced some surprisingly stout “rope drop” lines at SAB during the summer. One of those times at WDW where you get reminded for as early/on time as you think you’re being, there are always those that take more aggressive plans.
A lot of people go to the entrance by Beaches & Cream or the entrance more on the YC side as these are closer. IMO it’s worth lining up at one of the other entrances more on the walking path or HH side - less people tend to start building up there.
