Stormalong Bay

I tried to search for some information on this, but then figured that I would come to the experts. When my wife called MS a couple of weeks ago she was going to make reservations for BCV next January. The CM told her that DVC members staying at the Villas were not provided access to Stormalong Bay. If we wanted to use it we would have to use our points and stay at the hotel. Is this true? We now have reservations at BWV which is fine with me since we have never stayed there either.

Sounds like some serious misunderstanding there.

BCV absolutely has access to SAB.

On the other hand, we can't use DVC points to stay at BC.

Not that CM's aren't trying their best, but sometimes the info you get on the phone is woefully inadequate. What surprises me is getting misinformation like the from DVC Member Services......or perhaps someone misunderstood what they were trying to say? Did your wife ask about staying at BWV and using SAB, or is that what the MS rep thought they heard? If that were the case the answer would make sense.....you have to stay at BCV to use SAB.

Any guest staying at the BCV has full access to SAB, without question.

Since I wasn't home at the time I didn't get to hear the conversation and have to go on my wife's recollection of what was said, but since I was in disbelief I specifically asked her what was said. She said that she started out requesting reservations at BCV and the conversation shifted to talking about SAB. This is when the CM told her that SAB was not for guests staying at the Villas because they have their own pool. It was at that time that the CM told her that she actually prefers the pool at BWV and recommended staying there if we were interested in having access to a theme pool. I can't say for certain if the disconnect was on our end or theirs, but I am glad to find out that BCV guests do have SAB privleges. We will have to stay there in one of our future trips.

When staying at any other resort even on points we cannot pool hop to Stormalong Bay or AKL pool

(In Aug we're staying VWL, AKL & BCV so we'll be using all 3 pools)

I don't think it is that great of a pool. The other resort pools are good too.

Yes! DVC members staying at BCV on point can use SAB.
