Will be staying at the BCV Thanksgiven week, received letter from vaction club stating that some of the pool area will be closed for refurbishment. Please do not tell me the slide will be closed????

The slide is scheduled for refurbishment in February--when we'll be there.

Oh my! We are staying at the YC in a couple weeks, and my wife wanted to do the SAB thing. She said this would be one of our only opportunities to do it.

Does anyone know exactly what portions may be down for refurb?

The letter I recieved said various portions would be down at various times. And they are encouraging pool hopping.

I was planning on taking our 11yo DD and 5 of her friends to BCV for a birthday trip in a few weeks....Most likely before the end of October. Part of my salvation was going to be the pool! As long as the slide and the lazy river are available, I think we would be okay. (Well, I don't actually care about the "we" being okay...It is the "ME" that I care about being okay!!!) Can anyone shed some light?

From what others have been told by managers at the BC, SAB will go down in sections for painting and refurbishment.

From Nov 1 to Nov 24 it seems the shallow sand bottom kids area will be down. In December it will be the middle section with the lazy river, and in January the last section. Work on the slide will take place in February. That's what I've been able to gather so far.

The question i have is, i am staying at YACHT club on Points in about 4 weeks (long story...cancelled a concierge stay), sooooo if we want to pool hop, either because we're staying on points or because pool is not fully available to us, is that allowed? I've never stayed on points outside dvc resorts (other than cruising). i guess i can ask at check in (probably get a different answer depending who you ask). thanks!

We are going in Feb and are dissappointed to hear that the slide will be down. We really want the lazy river part so I am hoping that is open. Now since the slide is down does that mean we can hop to somewhere else. Where? Boardwalk Inn? Any Pool? We will be staying at DVC renting points will this be a problem for us?? Thanks for any info!
