I just read a post on another Disney maillist (DVCtalk) and it said that the pool at Beach/Yacht Club (Stormalong Bay) was badly in need of repair.
It stated thusly: "Stormalong Bay was nice but both my kids had scraped feet and so did I as the pool really does need some repairs--the bottom was rough and it was very visible where cement was missing all over the pool. Closing it would likely cause great grief for Disney but they are going to have to do something soon. The slide was closed for 2 days (our last 2
there) and maybe more while they fixed a leaking pipe and retreaded the stairs."
Another post stated this also on the Mouseforless group:
"I kind of had that feeling when I was there in October. I can't explain why, but I definitely got scraped knees from playing around with my daughter and all of a sudden coming upon a spot without sand... don't know if it's supposed to be like that or not, but it HURT! "
Does anyone have any recent experience with this facility that they could relate (good or bad)? My family and I are scheduled to be at the BCV for a week in July (renting DVC points). We decided upon BCV mainly due to Stornalong Bay. If the pool is not in good shape (by usual Disney standards), I would like to know beforehand so we can change our ressies to another DVC resort like the Boardwalk.
