I will be a DVC owner when we go in January 2009. I would like to stay at BCV for 3 or 4 nights before moving to SSR but after seeing that Stormalong Bay closes at 6 in the winter I am not sure about staying here. My kids love pools in the evenings. Have any of you ever pool hopped over to BWV because they closed and how was this? Thank you

There are other pools in the BC/BCV complex that remain open in the evening. There's one right by the BCV, and another by the BC (toward Epcot). :)

There are two other pools at the BC, I'm not sure why you'd want to trek all the way over to the BW, that would be a cold walk back in wet suits--it can easily dip to below 60 degrees shortly after sunset in January

If you are thinking it's for the slide, I hate to tell you that FL law requires that a life guard be present for a slide to open, and they close the slide at the BW pool about teh same time they close SAB, so it's not going to do you any good.

The DVC pool at the BCV is really nice, I'd just swim there. :thumbsup2

When did SAB start closing early in January? I went this past January, and I was pretty sure it was still open in the evening, after dinner.

How big are these two pools?

I have been in January, I do know slides close, and believe me 50-60's is warm where I come from. I was just asking because I had read other threads about the quite pools being told to be more quiet and I had read that Stormalong Bay closes earlier then others. I may have been mistaken.

SAB always closes around dusk in January and parts of Febraury--actually in many of ths lower times.

The DVC pool is a bit smaller than Luna Park. The quiet pool is the size of the quiet pool at the Polynesian if that give you any idea.

The DVC pool is plenty large enough to be enjoyable.
