Storage

After reading up on Alligator Bayou, it looks like storage is going to be an issue for our family of 5. Does anyone have any ideas on creating space in the rooms? Can you fit "under bed" boxes under the bed, or are they blocked? I have never stayed here, and I up for any suggestions!!! We are driving to WDW, so I will have a little leeway with what I bring. I figured each kid could have a drawer, and if I could use the under bed "Drawers" with the large boxes (packed with food on the way there, and souviners on the way home) that could createe 2 more drawers, and eliminate luggage clutter!!

I'm sorry I can't answer your specific questions about AB (although I think most under bed spaces are blocked) but I can tell you we've used this in the past & it worked out great. It packs flat.

There are many good ideas on the POR thread.

I haven't stay in AB, but I have stayed with 4 adults in the mansions.

One of my best recommendations is a shoe rack that can be placed over the bathroom door. Give each person a row and let them fill it with either hair care products, make-up, etc. For kids, it is a good place for toys, books, etc.

Also, many people have talked about using cubes. Great way to organize.

One mom posted that she put each child's clothes for each day in a ziplock bag and they stacked much more easily.

I don't remember the details of how, but we stayed 8 nights in AB with 2 adults, 2 teens and a 6 yr old with no problem at all. I don't remember putting anything under the beds. But we did unpack all the suitcases and used drawers, shelves and hangers. Were able to put suitcases inside one another too. No issues whatsoever.

I have used the over the door shoe bag before...works quite well. Also, I like the shoe holders that go over the rod in the closet. It hangs down and when not in use, it folds up like an accordion!!! So much good usable space that way.
