Does anyone know if there is storage space under the beds on board and if so what is the approximate number of inches vertically?
Thanks, we have some really thick suitcases - 12 inches- and I know that there is no other storage available on the ship.

Thanks for your help.

Our luggage has always fit under the bed so it was out of the way. What you need to know using really BIG luggage is what it weighs. Airlines have gotten tighter in weight of luggage. Our last cruise home from FL my DH and my sisters bags weighed over 50 pounds. We were flying NWA and they charged them an extra $25.00 for each bag that was overweight. If flying, check you airlines restrictions. They know people who are on vacation tend to weigh heavy:rolleyes: !

Thanks,

We checked with US Airways and any bags that weigh over 50 lbs and/or are larger than 62 inches (combined lenght, height and width) are assessed an additional $80 per bag!!
Glad I found out before we got to the airport.

We shoeved our quite large suitcases under the bed, but they had to be unzipped and opened and laid out in half.

I'd estimate about 9 inches, but note the outer lip is a bit smaller, so we lifted the bed up slightly and shoved it under, no problem.

We just got off the 4/17 eastern and all our large unpacked duffels fit under the bed. The only suitcase that did not fit was a large pullman suitcase. I took some of the smaller carry-on suitcases and one duffel and put them each in large kitchen garbage bags and then put them in this large suitcase. I then turned this suitcase up on the narrow end and sat it next to the cabinet by the bathroom/entrance way. It was not in the way much at all.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your cruise.

My HUGE suitcase would not fit under the bed (admittedly, I did not try lifting up the edge of the bed, nor did I try unzipping the suitcase). It did, however, fit easily inside the closet.

We were able to fit most of our bags, one inside the other, under the bed. We did have to put the large suitcase in the closet, but it seemed like we still had plenty of room.

We just returned from the April 17 cruise and after we unpacked, we asked our stateroom host to store our luggage and he took them and returned them to us Friday afternoon.

We put our lifejackets under the bed, - which gave us extra room in the closet for our big suitcase.

The best hint I have is to put the lifejackets under the bed....then you have the closet shelf for suitcase or other stuff. My duffle bag type big suitcase fit under the bed, but just barely. I had trouble getting it in, but the steward seemed to have it stowed under there every morning!

I just measured my suitcase, 12 inches. I did need to lift up the bed (a tip I got here - if I didn't know, I wouldn't have tried and would have thought it didn't fit).
